Haman was the One, Zion is Africa, Architect is Satan

Some interesting thoughts I've had (some on my own and others helped by ideas posted on the net) is that Councillor Hamann was previously 'The One' since he seemed to have an understanding of control even more than anyone else. He may have been explaining to Neo that he would have the choice to destroy the machines and sacrafice the lives of all humans or to keep the machines going at the cost of zion. Neo already at that point expressed his how he would chose when faced with that choice and so its quite true that he already had his mind made up, he would unplug the machines to regain control. That is what he chose in the room with the architect. The point that either nobody told him or nobody knows is true but not based on a lie. Because nobody told him does not mean that whoever knows is lying to everybody about the matrix and the oracle and so forth. If Hamann does know, I got the impression that he doesn't really such much at all to really get anything conclusive from him so he doesn't really say either way that what they know about the matrix is true or false.
As well, Hamann seems to understand the importance of Neos mission even at the cost of Zion. This is probably because he knows that if Neo does not select the 23 to repopulate zion, all will be lost and Zion is going to be destroyed anyways so again he is forced to make the same choice as before and again he picks the 23 because of his general love of humanity. Another interesting correlation between Neo and Hamann is that neither is able to sleep. Both are haunted by sleep in some way and yet others who escaped the matrix are able to return to sleep.
Two possible explanations of the blackness of Zion:
1) reminds us of the evolutionary beginning of humanity coming from africa and so if the war was over tomorrow, humanity would begin in a samilar fashion
2) The 23 originally selected to be freed were of various races but as copulating to increase zions population happened the skin color began to favor blacks and asians in a dominant gene sort of way and so what we see is actually lighter skinned black people (I dont know much about genes in that way so research might confirm or deny this but its just a theory)
"Is the architect lying?"
Its hard not to think that the architect is lying. His whole existence is based upon deceiving humanity. If Neo is the saviour, the architect is Satan. The color contrast to Neo would help suggest this although it is not the traditional Christian white = good and black = bad. The trouble with what the architect says is that part of it is true and part is false. Just like the matrix, part is based on reality and the rest is false. In order to convince people of the lie, the architect had to use real history as a template. So while you may say that those events never happened, or that they were the creation of the matrix, the truth is they did happen but not in the way that you would ordinarily think. So Neo's encounter with the architect is a difficult one to understand. What part of what the architect said is the truth and what part is the lie? I think the movie is partly or perhaps largely about free will and determinism so I think that what he think about both of those ideas are probably skewed because of the Matrix. The oracle hints at this in the first one when Neo breaks the vase. It may not have been that she knew the future because it was determined but that she understands that things in the Matrix are guided to a certain path. Being freed and then re-entering the Matrix does not free you from that path of being guided. What has to be realized is that there is still a real choice that can be made. As well, I don't think the Oracle is infallible in predicting the future. Her name implies that she does it by some trick, much like the Oracle at Delpi in Greek mythology so if a person comes to understand the true freedom they have, they can escape her predictions as well. The architect says that the notion of choice is a fundamental flaw but I think that choice is the saving grace of humans even in the matrix. At any given moment we can all choose to be free and make our own paths. Why the Merovingian is so dangerous then is because he tries to convince people otherwise. If you fall into the trap of believing that everything is simply cause and effect, then you have no chance of rebelling against it.
