»end of m1?«

ok, maybe this has been addressed, but as you can tell, i'm new here.
so, what's up with the end of M1? the 'system failure' message, the "i'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see....a world without you." etc. seems to me neo did none of these things. perhaps a good ending before sequals were decided on? perhaps an ending down the road? just curious as to any input or theories you all have....

Maybe at that moment, he informed everybody about the matrix...

Which would explain the ending of revolutions how everyone would have a choice of weather to stay in the matrix or be freed...

The "System Faliure" showed up because Smith became a virus. I think.

i think the system failure message was the phone tracer program failing. if you look closely, only numbers are displayed and not the matrix code. this is similar to the very beginning of M1 when trinity was talking to cypher on the phone and you see the phone being traced by using the same number program. besides, if the entire matrix had a system failure, the world that neo was making the phone call in would have disappeared completely.

great theories, makes alot more sense thinking about it.... much to consider, which is what makes the trilogy great!

Anyone else think that was the best ending to a film ever? they couldnt have combined rage with pure coolness any better if they tried... In a way im glad there was sequels (obviously) but technically the brothers could have left it there and left the ending to our imagination...
