»What choice did the oracle make and 'what' is Persephone?«

In Matrix Revolutions the 'new' oracle(considering the actress who played the 'original' one died)says that she looked like that because she made a 'choice' okay that choice was to help neo I think but couldn´t the brothers give a better explanation to why the oracle looks different? And while we´re on the topic of ridiculous explanations WHAT OR WHO THE HELL IS PERSEPHONE? in the Enter the Matrix game niobe says to her "you´re not a woman you´re not even human'..okay that inderectly says she´s a program from the machine world....But what is her PURPOSE as smith´s says everyone has one then she must have one too....Other question that the Revolutions raised and did not answer regarding this character is what happened to her and the merovingian?because in the end there´s only the Architect,The Oracle and Sati(who the hell is she by the way?)....all of which are programs and technically so is the merovingian and persephone so,why aren´t they there?....Anyway these questions are only a sample of the ones I have but let´s leave them to another time....

the oracle has changed because Sati's parents sold the termination code for the oracle's original 'skin' to the merovingian, on the premise that Sati, a program with no purpose, be smuggled into the matrix by the merovingian.

as for the meeting at the end of the movie, i don't think that Persephone and the Merovinian were there because they were Exiles, and the Oracle and the Architect were not. while it's true that the Oracle needed Seraph to protect her, i think that was more because of the potential for knowledge that she had than because the System would terminate her if found (like an Exile).

that being said, i'm still not sure what Persephone is. i mean, the Merovingian is a data-gathering and analyzing program (causuality) and the Twins and Cain & Abel were probably early versions of Agents. i dunno about Seraph, either. hmm...

maybe the earlier versions of the Matrix were based in different time periods? ancient Europe (werewolves and ghosts) or ancient China (Seraph having the look and skills)? i don't know...but it sounds good. *LOL*
