[Matrix Reloaded] Morpheus: "Tonight let us shake this cave! Tonight let us tremble these halls of earth, steel, and stone! Let us be heard from red core to black sky. Tonight, let us make them remember. This is Zion! And we are not afraid!"

the spiritual symbolism has smacked you in the face and still, until last summer, your prefered approach was from the "real world perspective" -> the social: |
It still is. The real world didn't change, just my perspective on what is included in it. My alarm clock went off on 7/7/06 I'm still adjusting my eyes to the sunlight, hehehe. That perspective you speak of really comes out when you look away from the screen and come to grips with WHY these movies were made. (Addressed in the riddle of the OP of that thread.)
I had to understand how everything went hand in hand. Honestly, if I kept going the route I was going, I would have faired no better than Max314 is right now.

I have no idea why you bring this up but I will add to this that while what you say is essentially what I believe as well, recognition is inextricably linked to where we come from and what we care about. Ever met someone who forgot who you are and asked you your name the next time they saw you? People, especially ladies, (no offense) take that as a sign that the person didn't really care to much about knowing you (at that time). Similarly, as Gina Rink points out, "you only get out of it (art, or anything else having to do with a person) what you put into it."
There are many things to perceive (meet) in these movies and many people will be meeting them for the first time but many like yourself will have seen them before. Some of these like me, will have to ask the name again because I didn't recognise these things in the setting I saw them, though I they did seem familiar. Many like you will catch many of these things right away. The important thing for all three groups above to do is to either 1.) try to get to know more about these things (religious perspective) and why they show up here (social) or 2.) ignore them as irrelevant hoorah put in to just 'spice up' the films.
I would relate the tree thing you just mentioned to the different reactions to the Sati cipher but I think this hint should be enough to show where I could go with this

Tozy, you're losing it. WTH, now, instead of upping your IQ, you've decided to make sure other people don't?
*reminds intell that that riddle is not close to being "solved"*
