Has anyone else noticed that since you have been doing research on other possibilities to our reality, and watching movies with different eyes, reading books with a more open mind, and just an all around different view of everything around you...
Does anyone else ever look back at their life before the began this journey?
When look back to my life about 2 or 3 years ago, including my view of The Matrix works, I just think about how closed my eyes were. How blind I was. It makes me feel 2 things, 1 good, 1 bad.
The bad is that I know the majority of the people I see and the people I know and love are hardcore bluepills. Just stuck in the Matrix of the world around them and are too far-gone to ever see what I would happily show them if they weren't so militant about refusing it. It's exactly like Morpheus said "So hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." It is sad and it makes me feel alone. Anyone else feel that way?
The good side is that I see where I WAS those few years ago, and it inspires me to keep looking onward and grow to see even more. I want to know how deep the rabbit hole goes. And I won't stop until I do, or die trying.
Thanks for reading and/or responding. Just had to get it off my chest.
Later all,
Kozar

That is why I regard culture as The Matrix.
Your culture tells you what illusion of reality you are supposed to have. As soon as you start saying things which indicate you are not in the box people begin wondering what is wrong with you and trying to push you back into the box.
Since I was kind of outside the box before The Matrix I find it rather annoying that the Wachowskis aren't clear about what they intended. Why is the Logos named Logos?

Google says:
often translated as "word", it's true meaning is much more multifunctional (a better translation would be "reason"). The Logos is the light that gives Gnosis via communication. It is the Christ (not to be confused with Jesus). First there was a thought, then the word. We pass on knowledge in this world through words. It is something that gives us guidance by "seeing" or a certain amount of comprehension.
The Logos is what Neo rode to communicate w/ DeM. Could be one interpretation.
Edit: as to the original thread. It is cool to realize and work torwards finding Truth for yourself rather than being told what truth is.

The word logic is derived from LOGOS.
Quote: | "It [being a Vulcan] means to adopt a philosophy, a way of life which is logical and beneficial. We cannot disregard that philosophy merely for personal gain, no matter how important that gain might be."
- Mr. Spock (Journey to Babel) |
You may have noticed the avatar.
The Nebuchadnezzar was destroyed as the statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream in the old testament was destroyed. Morpheus (God of dreams) makes the comment about "the dream is gone from me."
Since the Wachowski's could choose any name they wanted, why did they choose LOGOS? The destruction of the statue results in a "mountain" that filled the Earth in the dream.
Now some people interpret that statue as the evolution of Western culture with the legs splitting in two being the Roman Empire splitting into East and West. So what culture could fill the Earth to replace Rome. A Logical Culture to cope with this global technology could certainly be useful. This logic technology is spreading throughout the world. How well will we cope?

The danger there can be Zion though. Just because society says Britney Spears is kewl and great, doesn't mean you should immediately reject her because you want to "find your own truth." Especially if your own truth is Evanescence, the goth answer to Spears. You're goth, you're "counter culture," but you're still just existing in a system.
However, if all your friends are goth, and you dress all in black with thick make up, and then walk down the street blaring the latest Britney joint ... well now that's a horse of a different color. |
Dear Capt.
I read this post and found it HIGHLY coincidental. The reason for this is I am the guy in my avatar (obviously), I'm a former jock, I party weekly (beirut), play poker with family and friends. In essence I do many "BluePill" activities, but still in the front of my mind is The Matrix and my search for truth. But the reason your post got my attention is because although I appear exteriorly to be the type of guy who listens to OAR or any other college type band, I am posting this LITERALLY 30 minutes after waiting in line for the box office to open to buy Evanescence tickets.
The show is Oct. 27th, and my sister and I plan on waiting about 4 hours before the doors open to get on or as close as we can to front row center. Evanescence is easily my favorite band of all time because I feel and hear it to be true RedPill music, "music for the mind" as I call it. Anyone who has heard the song "Anywhere" from the Origin album could vouch for that.
Anyway, just thought you'd find that interesting Capt. , and listen to Anywhere if you can, let me know what you think. It's not just "goth/Britney" music, as you call it.
And to all, thanks for posting and reading this stuff, let me know more of your "unplugging". Or maybe our journey's from the Pill to the unplugging room is more than the few steps it was for Neo. But hey, at least we're in the right building.

CaptPostMod wrote: | | That's awesome Kozar! I love Evanescence (I have the first album, is the second one out yet?)... Of course, I own all of Britney Spears albums, too (Damn does she do somethin' to me). And all three of Jimi Hendrix's albums with the Experience ... did I miss anyone on the thread? |
Haha, I believe the "first" album you speak of is "Fallen" right? But unfortunately that wasn't their first album. The FIRST album they released was called Origin, and contained ALOT of underated music (mostly because they were not known like they were after releasing Fallen which contained 13 out of the 13 songs being HITS!) <IMO>
So they really have 3 albums right now: Origin, Fallen, Anywhere but Home (which is a compilation of live tour performances I believe), and on October 3rd "The Open Door" will be release which both my sister and I will be taking off to sit in line at Best Buy so we can get a copy and listne to it all day.
As for Britney, I can appreciate her voice and/or appearance, whichever it is that "does" stuff to you. LOL
But Amy Lee's voice digs and has embedded itself into my very soul I believe so much so that I hear her singing in my dreams even when the radio isn't on and I find myself strangly attracted to goth women now, something I would have never have thought possible in my jock days.

I like anything that's good. Being popular or counter-popular doesn't make a bit of difference to me. |
Heck yeah Capt. I still like Rage and some popular groups. Heh, my "party" CD jumps around from Evanescence, to Tracy Adkins, to Rage, to Queen, to SR-71, then coming to a nice conclusion with "Afternoon Delight" from Anchorman! Always make for a good party moment when I steal the "BEEYUUU" sound before anyone else can.
It's weird how music can "alter moods and talk to you" as Eminem would say. I usually find myself hearing notes in Lee's voice that give me chills even when I'm not directly concentrating on the song.
This is the part where in my "blog" (if I had one) I would right "Guess that sounds weird/ Makes me sound crazy" to seem like I'm not different from any of the other sheep that would be reading it. That's why I love this place so much, I don't have to pretend I'm the same to not be chastized.

Since I satrted this thread to talk about stuff that seperates red from blue, I just wanted to say something.
Im drunk at my house right now, I have my feet in my pool, and I feel more connected with the water in my pool then with the people I am talking with in my backyard.
I'll delete this tomorrow morning when I sober up, but to anyone who reads this between now and then, thanks.

my post wasn't about the music capt, it was about taking what you're told, and questioning it. (in a good way) and if you find something alternative to what you've always been told (or maybe a relevant version for you) then its a sweet thing. its yours. thus the goth listening britney spears friend.
ps- speaking of tickets, i have Clapton tickets for when he comes to Charlotte, NC. pretty stoked about that! i learned to play guitar from him. anyway.
