Don't play matrix online for the story. The storyline is executed poorly. Sony refuses to put the bucks into the game needed to properly execute. The basic theme is handling randomization and that takes time and money. But, with a niche audience of a couple thousand and another game like it in the works, you can forget about big bucks going to that game.

Play MxO if you like the idea of randomization. How you handle it is really the only gratification in the game. Hell is other RSIs. 3Tooth

Animatrix isn't important to understand the story, either. It's mostly sidestory and one set of backstory. Some of which you won't understand until you understand all of it, anyway. Buy it if you like animae and ideas the idea of freeing yourself from the matrix.

But someone once told me to join MxO for the love of what the W's were doing, rather than for the forum conversations. Very Happy

I'm sure this person made that comment before CR2 and the bug fixes. Before CR2, we were hoping that they'd put in more content and more live event content. Then, it became apparent that SOE wasn't going to do more than fix the combat system. The game is still too player dependent and live events are small and secretive because they don't want to kick out the cash.

That's true, it was before CR2 and I kept up with the discussions about that on the MxO boards and I think that's so wrong. For them (Sony), it seems the buck came ahead of the story. I wonder what the future is then, for the continuation of the story.

My favourite 3 are

Beyond - reminded me of the explanation for werewolves, ghosts discussion.

The Second Renaissance (Pt.1&2 (is that cheating)) – I am not a fan of anime (too many bad ones seen), but I thought this was fantastic & the prologue for everything we have seen.

The Final Flight of Osiris – From a throw away line in Reloaded, this is a beautifully animated short, which shows what happened behind that line.

The others however I am not to keen on.

I loved all of them, and Animatrix was the first anime movie I've seen. [Not anime series]

Untill now I've seen Akira(en.wikipedia.org...), Ghost in the Shell(en.wikipedia.org...), Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within(en.wikipedia.org...) and Metropolis(en.wikipedia.org...).

My favourite part of the Animatrix is Program. I like that old Anime style veeery much! But I liked the others too.

IMO, Final Flight of the Osiris has the worst story of them.
