"Stay" is the title of a 2005 film starring Ewan McGregor and Ryan Gosling. The story is about a psychiatrist (McGregor) who has to treat a schizophrenic patient (Gosling), but finds that things aren't as they seem. Throughout the film, he finds people who have been dead for years, a blind man who gains sight, and an identity crisis. Near the end, he finds his patient committing suicide. Immediately after he dies by shooting himself, the scene changes to that of a car crash, where the patient is now lying on the ground with severe head trauma, and many of the characters from the film are around, but they are clearly different people.
As it turns out, all of the events in the film up to that point were part of a dreamlike state that the victim of the crash perceived due to the head trauma. There are hints throughout the film, such as when the psychiatrist appears to be the patient and vice versa, as they struggle with each other. The biggest hint, however, is when the blind man gains sight and says that the world is just an illusion, that "the Buddhists were right."
Has anyone seen this film and would like to comment?

Whoa yeah...this movie was a bit Matrixy. It was very confusing though...me and my family were watching it and we had two foot tall question marks floating over our heads the whole time we watched it. There are alot of instances were you do not know what is reality and what is an illusion. The movie leaves you wondering. And about that Buddhist thing...yeah I noticed that too. Hmmm...I really need to watch Stay again and pay better attention to what is going on.
