Any program facing deletion would rather hide out in the Matrix. If you want to get from the source to the Matrix, the only way is the trainman. The Trainman works for the Merovingian, so to gain passage, you must have something the Merovingian wants. The Oracle and Seraph, therefore, must both have come to the Matrix through Merv. Once they were there, I am guessing that the Oracle knew how to escape, but also knew that she would need protection. She would have been able to convice Seraph that they could escape together, and that they would then search for the road to peace. That is how they know each other.
On another note, Persephone, according to Greek Mythology, is the wife of Hades. This means Merv represents Hades, the gatekeeper to the underworld. This is why he possesses the keymaker. He does not want anyone else to have access to the gates of hell. When Neo (Christ) frees the Keymaker, he defeats Merv, and is allowed passage to the source. If Merv is the gatekeeper to the underworld, then the source is hell. The Architech is therefore the devil (creating the illusion world that keeps the humans prisioner) Seraphim are the highest choir of angels that are the closest to God. Seraph guards the Oracle. This makes her God. "If I am the father, she would be it's mother." The contribution that the Oracle made to the Matrix is the element of choice. If the humans discover this choice, then they can wake up and be reborn. This choice was the only thing that would keep 99% of the humans inside the Matrix. I could go on, but I had better stop there. Sorry, I got a little excited.
