[Matrix Reloaded]
Lock: "I believe I need every ship we have if we're going to survive this attack!"
Councillor Hamann: "I understand that, Commander."
Lock: "Then why did you allow the Nebuchadnezzar to leave?"
Councillor Hamann: "Because I believe our survival depends on more than how many ships we have."

In matrix 1 neo is picked up by trinity, and others, in a car under a bridge when it's raining. Does anyone know the make, year or model of that car?
Thanks!

One of the few cars to come from the factory with suicide doors. Definitely a sweet ride!

This is funny. I have THE MATRIX DVDs and I have watched that scene a dozen times (slight exageration) and I never thought about what kind of car that was. But as soon as I read the title of this thread "Lincoln Continental" popped into my head.

Didn't know the year tho. And I HATE cars.

Are you English or something? Not that english people are stupid but they don't seem to like cars

Flip a coin. Choose heads or tails but, if you knew every variable, there would be no choice, only an answer. That is how the Architect works.

when Neo was told "My way or the highway," he starts to get out of the car, but Trinity stops him. She tells him "You've been down there (looking down the street) and you know where it ends" or somehting like that, dont really remember.

I wasnt sure what was going on there. Did I miss something?

No I'm not English I just hate crappy technology.

I used to build lots of models when I was a kid. Mostly cars and planes, but ships and submarines too. You can look at a plane and depending on the years of the design you cansee why it was designed the way it was. But cars. I saw they were just making useless variations b4 I graduated from grammar school.

Look at the planes from WWII. P-51 Mustang, British Spitfire, P-38 Lightning, my personal favorite. They could all do over 400 mph. They were all designed 25+ years before the moon landing without compters.

Now here we are 36 years after the moon landing. We have computers coming out of our ears, and the automobile industry designs SUVs that turn over on a sharp turn. The Concord has been designed, built, flown for 25 years and discontinued and we are supposed to care because the auto industry keeps redesigning cars. Forget it.

The auto industry isn't about technology or transportation. It is about money. It is part of THE ECONOMIC MATRIX that we are trapped in.

I think Trinity is trying to tell Neo that he has always walked away from important decisions in his life by taking the easy road instead of taking the "road less travelled".

Btw, I resent the face that you said British don't like cars. I'm British and I love (good) cars. Razz

When I first saw that scene I was thinking that it referred to a long boing life working for some software company. I identified it with my time at IBM which I quit.

But now, after seeing M3 and the final fight with Smith where it was raining cats and dogs just like when Neo was about to get out of the car I am thinking something else. Was this some kind of indication of FATE that neither the characters Neo nor Trinity could know at the time. The possible convolutions within The Matrix amaze me to this day.

What do you think is a good car, and why?
