»M3: Symbol during opening title«

At the start of M3, just after the title and the gold code, we see mega city. It all appears inside this funky looking symbol. Anybody have a reference to that thing, what it means, etc?

That is actually showing the shape of the city itself, helping to show the vast, seemingly infinite, fractal nature of the Matrix.

The symbol itself is apparently one that represents a number of various figures, including Satan and the Roman god, Mercury.

Max, could it be that - regarding the fractals - you are confusing the megacity symbol with the machine city?
