You should check out Equilibrium if you haven't already (imdb.com...). It's by the same director as Ultraviolet. It's an awe inspiringly kewl film.

Ultraviolet isn't trying to knock off the Matrix in that they have totally different plots. But they both do draw from the same source material (anime). Milla might be my favorite action star making movies today (not comparing her to past action stars). And Kurt Wimmer is an absolutely amazing action director. The gun kata in Equilibrium just blows one's eyes! Thumbup

That element's more just kung-fu movies in general for the last 15-20 years. Hard rockin' techno timed with kick butt choreography has been a staple of sci-fi kung fu movies since the eighties. As long as it has a beat, a few ethereal synths, and you can fight to it, right. Smile

Its very similar, for example when the cops chase her, and a lot more.

IŽll say its like a mix between The Matrix and Aeon Flux (Creepy glass robots Whitelaugh ).

Milla Jojovich kicks ass, also Resident Evil 2 suckeddd so bad!

Umm, no, the point is it's not from the Matrix. Smile Sounds like typical Juno Reactor stuff, and they'd been doing songs for movie soundtracks long before the Matrix (Virtuosity being one of my favorites).

As for looking like Aeon Flux, I knew somebody was gonna say that about Ultraviolet. But Ultraviolet started production in 2003. Before Aeon Flux. Kurt Wimmer just couldn't get all the backing he needed and everything put together right to get it out to the theaters until now.

I won't judge a book by its cover, but whatever its origins, UltraViolet does not look like it could be so much as compared with The Matrix. What makes The Matrix unique is its subtext and its unanswered questions. What was it I watched a few days ago... I think it was Star Trek: Nemesis -- ridiculous. What a waste.

It's been said before: this story is for thinkers. The no-brainers better steer clear, those who don't comprehend the light.
