Yes Neo was deceived by Oracle .They have used Neo and Trinity.This seems to be preplanned. Oracle saying Trinity that she will be in love with Neo.I think she was preparing trinity to love Neo.Then Morpheous making Neo a human.When Neo meets Oracle for the first time she says to him "this must be the reason why she loves you".I think she says this provoke Neo to love Trinity.Perhaps Love is one of the very strong human feelings which makes him to give up anything for it.Remember what Ramakandra says You are ready to give anything for sake of Love.This might be the reason why Oracle choosed Love as trap to gain control over him and she used trinity for this reason.Making neo a human would be part of this.She tried not let him out of this trap everytime.In M2 she asks him about what he sees in his dream and when he hesitates she asks him whether he saw trinity's death forcing him not to choose the Source when meets the Architect.Neo meeting Ramakandra's family also is a part of this trap.She might have done all these things for some good or bad reason.But If we see in general she has deceived him.This would be the darkside of Oracle.On the other hand Morpheous(humans) has used Trinity and programs has used Neo.The sad thing about Trinity is she has become something like use and throw object.At the end everyone was thinking about Neo but no one cares about Trinity.This would be a bitter truth about Oracle .

The oracle used Neo and friends as pawns in her game of chess for the human race, she didnt trick them she guided them becuase that was going to happen no matter what, its fate.

I do indeed believe that she made sure on a psychological level that Neo and Trinity would quickly fall in love with each other. But it was for a good cause.

The approach from the Oracle is different from the Architect's approach. The Architect tries to force people to comply, while the Oracle seems to have more respect for the human individual. She guides a person, but she always make them feel that only they make the final choice.

What she did extra this time around is that she made sure that the One would fall madly in love. Love brings out the best of strenght out of each of us, so the Oracle figured that this little boost was needed to make the path of the One a little bit longer and with a better result.

The outcome of her manipulations is that everybody lives, even Zion stays alive, and the Matrix version 3 finally seems to work flawlessly.

Ok, so she took a risk, but "change always is [dangerous]". No guts no glory!

I would ask what basis does this find in the films but I'll just go ahead and ask, "what good cause would that be?". Aww heck, just answer both of them if you can.

First of all a quick history lesson, the first matrix program was created which was meant to be a prefect world where no one would suffer but no one would take to the program. The Oracle was created to find a solution and she found one where people would accept the matrix if they where given choices, so the matrix was redesigned to the one in the films. As a result of the new matrix program an anomaly was created who could remake the matrix as they saw fit, now the anomaly freed first of the human and the second war between men and machine has began. In order to control the anomaly the Oracle and the Architect came up with the idea of The One and a prophecy to go along as well, the idea of the prophecy and The One is that The One will reach the source and the war will end.

The way I see it the Oracle and the Architect realises that humans and need each other so they came up with the idea of the prophecy to control the human population outside of the matrix and the anomaly as they could prove to be a major threat if left alone.

Now I read earlier that someone said that “this was going to happen anyway” but I don’t think so because every thought the oracle can see into the future we can’t see past the choices we don’t understand” the way I see it is that the oracle seen that Trinity would fall in love with the one so she decides to use this to here advantage and sees this as a chance to end the war.

In Revolutions we see that the prophecy has been a lie but I don’t think so, I think the Oracle knew at some point that one of the anomalies would became The One and end the war and so she seen this in Neo in his love for Trinity so she knew that he would choose the left door, which would mean that the another solution would be needed to save Zion. Neo a vision of machine the machine world which forces Neo to go to there to look to a solution to save Zion and he finds it thanks to Agent Smith so. Neo Make a deal with the Machines that he will fight Agent Smith and if he wins then a peace is formed and the war is over. Now think about this, THE PROPHECY WAS FULFILED, Neo did reach the source (Machine City) talked to a head machine or whatever and he did stop the war (granted it is a truce but it is better than nothing) by defeating Agent Smith which would save the two worlds the machine world and Zion.
