The fifth One came and equalized the equation --> 0
Or at least he 'restarted' the prime program which is also about starting with a clean slate --> 0

Now it's time for the sixth integral anomaly aka the sixth One.

You can also interpret it with the original movie script for "the Matrix". In this script Morpheus already tracked down five candidates for being the One, but they all died facing an agent.

Neo is Moprheus' sixth candidate in his dogmatic obsessive search. So the fifth candidate just died: a '5' becoming a '0'. And now they are focussing on the next candidate: a '6'.
That's also why Cypher says that they are going to kill him; he is referring to the previous candidates who failed.

I hear you and others bring that up often, Mobil_Ave. I mean the other candidates that Morpheus found. And I find it interesting pondering the Wach's decision to pull that detail, which I will get to later on in the post.

Since they did pull that from the finished product, would they really leave a reference to it like 506 or would they tie it off? Or does 506 have more than one meaning?

And going back to Morpheus' other candidates, could the detective in Detective Story have been one of them?

That is very possible, considering that they never free a mind once it's reached a certain age and he looks kind of old. How old is Neo anyway, does anyone know?

Those who give up their freedom for security will lose both and deserve neither...

506 comes out in Matrix 1, In the beggining of the movie cypher and Trin are talking, cyhper says, " you know were gonna kill him " then numbers roll down the screen

2) 5 5 5 0 6 9 The camera zooms in on 506.

Neo IS the zero becoming the 6th Anomoly ( my opinion )

By the way, How does anyone know that Morpheus had more than 1 canidate? If he did they obviously all died,
was this a deleted scene or something? How do you know there is more than 1 canidate?

I think the Wachowski's have cut it out of the original script because it made the story too complicated.

I think it was originally meant to display Morpheus' dogmatic view and his obsessive nature to find the One.

It was a symbolic message for us. You cannot find anything in life by force. It has to come to you on your path by nature!

Morpheus didn't find Neo, but Neo found Morpheus (as he was doing research on him from behind his computer).

Later, when the Wachowski's were allowed to put in their full own visions, they changed the previous candidates idea into the idea of previous Ones, previous incarnations of the One.

About Neo's age: rumour goes that he is 33 just like Jezus was. Can anyone confirm this?

I think your right Mobil_Ave

I think they used the idea of other Canidates and turned them into incarnations of previous Anomoly's for the Sequels.

I find it hard too believe that they orignally planned the matrix as a trilogy, i think they wanted a trilogy, but never intended the 1st movie to be in one. I love watching all 3 movies but the sequels are nothing compared too the orginal matrix 1, part 2 and 3 are slow and often boring. The Sequels were never meant too happen.

Slow and boring? Well that must be highly subjective then. I enjoyed every second of them.

I think that they had the main ideas for a whole trilogy from the beginning. My suspicion is that they had two versions in mind: a hollywood trilogy in case the financers wanted to mingle in too much and a version that they would like to see themselves. Because of the enormous success of M1 they could claim full authority over the storyline for the sequels, so they have put in their own ideas. Thank god for that!
