Did I miss something, I know I left before the end of the credits but WTF?
Firstly, this was a cool movie; it was entertaining and linked pretty well with not only M2 but M1 also.
Secondly, some of us should eat humble pie (including myself) on our slating of some of the characters including Niobe, the (new) Oracle and the Kid. To be honest, they came around in the end (the Oracal was as convincing as the previous one, Niobe was great piloting the Logos and the Kid played a nice sized [and important] part).
But...
After all this, where's the conclusion? I know the plot has gotta leave some scope for TMOL in the future but I'm sure there's a scene they forgot to put in durring editing. What I mean is, for those of you who've seen it, after the (annoyingly brief) exchange of words between the Oracle and Architect on the ('dedicated to Thomas Anderson, I'm guessing?) park bench and the litle programme girl creates the sunrise, surely there was supposed to be something after that? But no, fade to black! Written and Directed by...
Well what about our swoop through the street, city or world (or whatever) to show us the population of the matrix; they're the ones the war has been fought about for 100 years, they're the purpose of the 3 movies!
I guess I'm just a little disapointed there was no end vision of these people. I think it would have been great to end this way, and set up the forth coming game just as well. I also noticed the role of the everyday matrix inhabitant deminished through out the trilogy (you know I can't think of a single still jacked-in human in revolutions, and that includes the gimps in the hell club) and that pisses me off a little, I mean, did they survive when Smith was destroyed? Are they concious of what happened? If not then the final conversation between the Oracle and Architect is pointless.
After all this beef I gotta say I loved the references to the previous movies including the 'know thy self' sign and the mew, mew 'glitch' cat back in for good measure.
In all honesty I think the quality of story telling deminished after M1 but this was still a neat movie. I just really hope the Wachowski's write a Matrix companion book now or something to answer all those (still unanswered questions), I mean why not now the movies are all out? Either that or you all have still got months worth of debating to get through!
