»Who "Trinity" Is...«

I believe that Trinity is not a metaphor of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) of Christianity.

I believe, rather, that she is a metaphor of the Trinity of Brahman (creator, preserver, destroyer) of Hinduism.

1. She "created" Neo by helping free him from the Matrix (and/or by saving his life when Smith shot him),
   
2. She "preserved" Neo by being there for him (and/or saving his life as pointed out in #1). Remember in M2 she says "they need you" he replies "I need YOU".
   
3. She "destroyed" him by flying him to the source to die.
   

One could just as easily say

Father - Created him (Getting Mr. Anderson out of the Matrix)

Son - Brought him back to life, i.e. saved him.

Holy Spirit - Helped him (Holy Spirit is the helper).

Personally, I think it was just a cool handle that had general religious overtones.

You are 100% right about morpheus and trinity not being part of the holy trinity.

but they are like 2 angels beside the king of angels, Fighting the evil 3 headed beast which gaurds the gates of hell.

But with that aside morpheus neo and trinity are a holy trio.

My understanding in relation to the meaning of trinity is the idea that she is neos souls mate. Because my idea is that neo is actually the son part of the holy trinity. and trinity is his other half, That is why i think she is called trinity.

And i do agree with what everybody else said about the trinities,. And maybe if you guys can formulate some kind of an idea, in which 3 trinites within trinities can work.. then you might come up with something
