»confused over architect speech«

Need some help please to clear up the architect speech.

If Neo takes the right door he can choose 23 people from the Matrix to start Zion again, right? What happens to all the others in the Matrix? If Neo takes the right door this allows the architect to reinsert the source program, would this reinserted source program make the matrix even more "perfect" than before? Is this why it seems that the architect wants him to choose the right door, so he can improve the matrix further from existing anomalies? would the smith cloning anomaly go if the source code was reinserted?

and the left door. i heard that mankind is destroyed if neo takes this door. why would taking the left door destroy mankind and how would it happen?

i would appreciate help so i fully understand the film for when i hopefully see the revolutions tomorrow.
