The Wachowski's have scripted a NEW ending to the entire Matrix Trilogy, and it is to be uncovered beginnning November 8, 2005.

Does anyone have any info/thoughts on what it could be?

Simple!

Neo choosing the other door at the Architect, followed by some mission involving the building of the new Zion and the freeing of the first population.

since in a video game, it would probably seem lame to just give in to the last boss (Smith) this is the most probable change. I would not be suprised if in the video game you actually have to kill the Smith(s) at the end of revolutions.

There are no anwsers, only choices.

Has anyone noticed in the preview for Path of Neo that there is a black and white scene in which Neo is wearing a traditional Japanese robe and fighting ninja-like figures? I wonder what that is about?

It is the detailed experience of the training programs that get uploaded into Neo's mind by Tank in M1.

Now you get to play all these training programs yourself.

The game is full of alternate endings from what I have heard (in the demo for example you can choose to take the blue pill, fall asleep, wake up and go to work the next day).

Ain't that great! You have to make up your own damn mind, like the Oracle said.

According to one of the video game magazines I purchased (due to the fabulous hologram photo of the game on the magazine's cover), the ending WILL be different than the ending to the movie. Neo will NOT sacrifice himself and end up dead. The Wachowski Brothers made this choice because they knew that while the ending to the trilogy is fantastic spiritually and philosophically, it makes a horrendously lousy ending to a video game. You don't want to get to the end of an awesome game just so that the bad guy can wipe the floor with you. I think they wanted this game to be self-contained, without any lead-ins to the Matrix Online or anything like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if it does include freeing everyone from the Matrix.

That being said, I didn't read about any other deviations from the story. There are obviously lots of additions, but that's just a matter of filling in the blanks--which is not the same as actually changing something.

While the ending is apparently different, I do expect to learn a little more about the movies from this game. It will be interesting to see if they reveal anything--especially about topics we seem to discuss frequently on this forum.

I think the game will provide you to "choose". "Choice" is an important part of the matrix, therefore the game will provide "choice" to all of us. So you can decide for yourself how to act as the one.

Anyway, as "the one" is the result of a systemic fault in the Matrix, he cannot die untill the matix itself "dies". As long as there is a Matrix, there will be "the one".

I read in a magazine that there have been 4 new Animatrix episodes written for the game!

No spoilers here, just commentary-

I'm so depressed by what I'm hearing about the new ending. Worst of all I'm hearing that when it comes to the new ending there is no choice. It ends this new way, and you can't even choose to end it the old way. And this new way just sounds very silly to me.

What happened? The Wachowskis just decided to stick it to everybody for 50 bucks or what?

yeah indeed, its too silly for words, and they are just destroying a great trilogy.

But not only the trilogy, because all related media (the animatrix, the first game, comics etc.) is giving you more information about the 'matrix' (the wachowski's are telling us all the time) and with this action they are tearing this whole concept apart.

I definately agree with the last two posts. I loved the ending to Revolutions, it was so open ended and allowed for so many thought provoking fan answers to all the open questions.

My opinion on the entire game is that it should be re-done. There are a number of ideas that i have for alternate scenes and such. However one scene in paticular is the Burly Brawl, the ending to that was just plain bad. In my opinion there should have been a count of smiths to kill before they all jump on you, then while under the pile of smiths the game would say to press and hold like L1+O (super attacks) and then release to explode out of the pile, and simply cut to the scene where this happens and when he flies away. Just my opinions. As far as the ending goes...well it definatley could have been better.
