simple as...they dont

when is Matriculated set, is it before Zion was 'first' built (aka Garden of Eden Matrix), is it just some humans who got to the surface or is it something different completely? Is the 'Matrix' they jack into some kind of test matrix they found/created.

And what's with the monkey? It has a plug, but why the hell would machines have a monkey in a powerplant? Mabey it's just to symbolise that monkeys are always used in human tests (in films anyway) so mabey this is a 'test' creature.

i think its just one of those seperate thingys that dont tye in with anything and that make people wonder if the producer was scitzophrenic

I like the idea of the monkey being some sort of test creature. It is not beyond reason that the humans can replicate the matrix cybernetic plugs and thus install them into freeborn folk. Testing on primates would be a quick and easy way to do this...of course, where the heck they managed to get a monkey i don`t know, its probably the last of its kind, unless there is an ape Zion, or a machine monkey farm in the power plants.

well, i think its about converting machines over to the human side by showing them that they are still only "human" and have feelings too.... i dunno

After i watched Matriculated I got the impression that the "monkey" wasn't any sort of primate at all. It proved to be very intelligent with superb long range vision; I would guess it is a tool that the humans perhaps created/genetically altered to fight the machines (If you watch closely you see that it has many fundamental roles in converting the machines).

The monkey. Yes, I was thinking that too. But remember, all the animals are programs, so why the hell does it have PLUGS? My theory is that they genetically engeneered it.
