why neo's power works inside and out of the matrix

I think that the reason that Neo and certain other humans within the matrix have special abilities is owed to the intense mental focus and concentration required to overcome the "laws" of the matrix. This might explain why Neo can distinguish the green code of the matrix. He has honed is mental concentration to such an extent. As a side effect of this however (or maybe the main effect), Neo has cultivated and sharpened his spiritual consciousness as well. The effect of this realization in some Eastern religions is that "one" realizes their connection to a greater, collective consciousness and becomes aware of the life force or chi flowing within oneself and all around. The bio-energy that the machines harvest from the humans intrinsically contains this life force or chi, which is what the flowing, golden, burning code-energy represents. Just as martial artists in reality manipulate chi, Neo and others can manipulate the matrix because it is powered with this biological-spiritual energy. Bending a spoon inside the matrix could be the same as directing your energy to curl your bicep. Energy applied a different way. Neo's awareness of life energy explains why he can distinguish it despite his blindness. Awareness of the greater consciousness combined with his mastery of chi manipulation might have enabled Neo to manipulate the unique life energy of living things to destroy those multiple sentinels in trying to reach the machine city. Since the sentinels contained this energy, they exploded. When the sentinels became too numerous, Neo's concentration was fragmented and he was unable to manipulate the energy contained within all of the sentinels at the same time. Smith, himself, seemed to unconsciously realize that Neo's concentration would be his, Smith's, undoing; which is why Smith replicates himself and says discouraging, questioning, doubt-enducing things to Neo during battles. All to disrupt and split his concentration and thus, defeat him.

I like what you said. It makes a lot of sense. I have actually seen documentaries on "Chi" and it's crazy. Good insight.

You have to let it al go, fear, dout, and disblief. Free Your Mind!, Morpheus-m1

i believe it is this that gives the power like powers the rebals have inside the matrix. the matrix is all about mental control, once freed from it, anything can be attchived. as for neo, i believe i his his freed mind and the anomly code that makes him have more ability than the others, ie stopping the sentinals with his mind, etc.

IMHO, I think showing Neo as having powers outside the "known" Matrix, was done to imply that Zion lives within yet another more advanced Matrix construct(better colors, more real) to perhaps trick the smarter coppertops back into thinking they were freed of the Matrix !

If you don't go by what the arcitect said in the white room, there is nothing to go by for the truth about Zion. But you can prove that your statement is wrong because in rev neo saves Zion through smith, unless of course Zion is just another elaborate simulation. I think though that it's not that complicated and the arcitect scene is the foudation of what the movies are about.

neo's abilities outwith the matrix are explained simply and easily in the film...it has nothing to do with zion being a matrix or any other complete tosh

"the ability of the one stretches from this world all the way back to where it came from...the source"

the oracle says this in revolutions

what it means is that neo (who contains the code of "the one" within him as explained in the arhcitect scene in reloaded) is connected to the source

therefor he is connected to everything else that it connected to the source

hence even after he is blinded...he can see smith...he can see the machine city...he can see the matix towers...he can see the sentianals...because they are all connected to the source

what he cant see is trinity(after the crash he calls to her because he cant see her) he cant see the logos either (he feels his way around after the crash)

since he is connected to these things and since he never wnet back to the source when given the choice in the architects room...his abilities have evolved further than any of his predeccessors and have become a serious threat to the machines

the first instance of neo's powers being projected in this way is when he gets stuck in mobil ave...you will note that when he is freed...the operator on the neb (whos name escapes me at this moment) asks morpheus if they got him and morpheus says "you cant see him" to which he replies "we were picking up something but we werent sure what it was"

what it was was the code acting outwith neo's own code

A MAJOR,FULL ON BRONSON

The Architect does tell Neo that Zion has been "destroyed many times before", so which Zion can he be referring to if not a simulated one ? If Zion is real, he could have destroyed it only ONCE. That line IMHO, hints at Zion being a "Reload" of a more advanced Matrix program....

never build theories where answers are given. i want to comment on the previous post.

mwm is not impossible (judging from the info in the movies), though improbable. Neo's being connected to the source may actually prove him being inside another matrix, since he has neither telekinetic nor chi powers. he is just given the powers he needs to fulfil his purpose, and he is given them by the Oracle, who "plays a dangerous game". the Oracle is the driving force behind the change in Revolutions.

i think that neo is not within another matrix, but he is connected to the source by a wireless mode (there must be some kind of transmission, but he still has his implants, remember?). the Oracle simply chooses to give him what he needs to do what he is here to do. this also explains neo falling into and out of the matrix and the train station; he has a link to the machine world, both the source and the matrix, because his implants can be activated in another way. to put it bluntly: there are no alternatives to that but mwm or spirituality / telekinesis! from the three options, this one seems the most plausible, especially because neo does not see "gold code", but only the machine essences (he does not see the whole world).

if you are totally honest, this is not more than a theory either. neo does not evolve, he is given powers by the intuitive program intent on unbalancing the equation, i.e. the Oracle, to fulfil his role.

I think Zion could have been destroyed many times and rebuilt. Cause Morpheus said in m1 it's closer to 2199 but they didn't know the exact year. In Zion it could have been 2327 for all they know. He also said a century of war but I think it was much longer than that. How can you have six 'ones' in a century? Had to be longer than that.

The century of war that Morpheus was referring to was their time period only (he doesn't know this war has happened 5 times before him). This is their 6th war, their 6th "One." This is the 6th time the system has been recycled. If Morpheus knew that Neo was the 6th "One" (and that he knew the truth about what the One is really meant to do) than the prophecy would mean nothing to him, he would know its just a guide for the One to reach the source and recycle the system. Nothing would go right anymore. This is the 6th war between Machines and Zion (6th time the system has been recycled). Do you understand, Morpheus doesn't know that there have been 5 other generations of fighting between Machines ans Zion. He only knows his generation, and the prohecy.

No matter what you say, The Matrix Trilogy was made perfectly.

Good point, the source may have re-programmed the Sentinels to respond to Neo's emotions or thoughts in some way(as you said, via a wireless implant device), but that theory would in fact conclude the Trilogy at Revs with no back door for a fourth episode. There were just too many cliffhangers left out there for Revs to be the end.

Ah, more clues, the dialog seems to hint at the traditional Matrix being a subroutine, whereas the war with Zion occurs at a higher level, but is still another simulation. A mastepiece of deception, we keep the complacent ones in Matrix I, and catch the smart fellas with Reloaded ! Maybe they need the smarter coppertops for functions other than raw energy, the Machines might prefer their superior intellect to sample the best of human nature from, Darwinism in action... This theory sure opens doors for many extrapolations of the original premise, more movies, yippee !

Word, I believe this too, and always have.

While you cant rule out the real world is fake theory (purely because its not the kind of film that tells people how to interpret it) i have always been a firm beleiver in the theory that 'the anomaly' and 'exile' share. It is easly the most backed up theory and stays the most true the theme. It is easiest to understand when you fully know the purpose of the one as a tool of the machines. But the question that that you bring up in the post above had me confused for a while too. The only way i can explain it is that Bane now acts exactly the same as Smith due to the fact he is mentaly a duplicate. Neos machine enhanced sences can pick up on this and so his brain interpretes Bane as the program 'Smith'. It is important to remember that he does not infact see Bane, he sees a rather inaccurate, flamey image of 'Smith'.
