»Competing Resources Observation«

I've been doing a lot of browsing around here (or at least I think I have) and have had my brain(real or imagined) stimulated. Firstly, I am on the fence about the MIAM Theory. I will, however, submit the following observations.

Did you notice how in M1, all the background scenes are chalk full of background people? In M2, however, there are very, very few people around. In some M2 scenes, it is ridiculously noticeable. Could it be, that as the Zion population grows, the Matrix background scenes become less active. In M2, it's like the MATRIX program is just handling the bear essentials.

Suppose Zion is, in fact, another computer program. Zion is certainly "interfaced" to what we all currenlty believe is a program. What interfaces with programs? Answer: Other programs. Suppose this Zion program is running on the same computer hardware and is competing for resources( memory, processors, disk space) with the Matrix. If Zion were a program, it was certainly written much later than the MATRIX. As with all younger programs, it likley has a few bugs, or at least, is not nearly as mature as the MATRIX. Considering Zion a younger program, with possible bugs, and the additional complexities of better simulating choice,love,and free will, ZION could clearly need far more processing power, per human, than the Matrix program. Suppose that , as people interface to Zion from the MATRIX, the system reallocates resources to Zion, decreasing system resources dedicated to MATRIX. Could this be why the scenes in M2 are far less active? Could this be why the MATRIX code looks different in M2?

If Zion and the Matrix are both virtual worlds.... what is real? Everything we know about the human/machine war is from Morpheus... if everything is a Matrix then what is outside of this virtual reality? Was there even a war? Are there really these human power plants? It seems silly to me.

Create human power plants..
Create a perfect matrix... which fails
Creates Zion as part of the matrix.. and designs it exactly like the real world and tell the humans the reality of what has happened yet have them simulate it inside the matrix thru Zion.

Firstly, as I posted ealier, I'm still on the fence abot MIAM....but in response to Soujiro.....

It has been noted numerous times, that there are flaws in the MATRIX program. Generally speaking, the flaw is that the MATRIX doesn't model reality closely enough. To fix that flaw, why not model reality better? Zion was then modeled after the best model of reality the machines had at that time. It included the machines, the batteries, the anomalies of people not adjusting to the program, etc etc ect..

Maybe each program can fork alternate realities to deal with anomalies.

Maybe when people stop adjusting to the Zion illusion, another iteration of reality will be created. All the while, there is a REAL reality with peopel in it that have escaped from many different illusions of reality. Who knows man. Great story though, and that's why were in here, right?

Thats a good point. But then there are NO humans outside the matrix. So whats the point of Neo striking a deal with the machines? (which yes.. he does). If they wake up the Humans outside the matrix there isn't anyone real Zion out there to live in... and it'd be a whole bunch of machines running around anyways. Doesn't make any sense and it definitely wouldn't bring any kind of closure to the trilogy.

The only way I can see it ALL being one big matrix is if all the 'people' in Zion are really exiled programs. This would also explain Neo powers and all the references to how programs are in exile and choose not to accept the matrix. It would also explain why programs have human characteristics (ie: Smith).

Maybe the Zions 'people' are just exiled programs that don't accept the Matrix and believe they are real.. while programs like the humans in the matrix and the agents are programs that accept the matrix.. and programs like the Merv/Peseph are programs that don't want to leave the matrix even though they know its just a simulation. Sorta like how Cypher wants back in the matrix.

The matrix theatrical trailer is FILLED with mixed up clips where you have them putting to different clips together to imply something is happening (ie: neo talking to trinity in the ship starts with his eye being find and the end of the conversation is another clip in the ship again with his eyes hurt).

Maybe Neo finds out from the trainman that they are all in reality programs that were messing up the matrix so Zion was created to keep them under control. Same idea as the humans except with machines.

Hey, good one. Have added it.

"HE WOKE UP." So we find ourselves back at the beginning of the finale plot problem. Good drama doesn't conclude with corny paradoxes, infinite looped/nested realities and rhetorical questions. This would cause more annoyance than it would wonder and awe. I have a suspicion we may see a "Luke, I am your Father" revelation in the final chapter... ?
