"You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it."
-- the matrix

so the question goes: are You ready to know the truth?

maybe the truth is out there, maybe it is not,

maybe the truth IS out there but we simply aren't ready for it.

Just remember...

The truth could be that we are just highly evolved cockroaches Smile

Parasiting each other untill there are no resources left.

Killing our time, trying to give a reason to our lives and then dying, just being food for other cockroaches.

What then?

Well, I can tell u one stuff buddy.. there is no evolution and also the resorces wont run off until there is not human on the earth and i asure that will be for a long long time.. And if u feel hopeless or lonely is cuz u have nothing to care about or have no reason to do ur things.. thats why the human nature runs by propouse or reason for that matter..

There is most certainly evolution!

But with humans the evolution has turned somewhat in the backward direction.

We humans stay alive longer and longer. And thanks to civilized society people with weak genes are allowed to spread on their seed, making even weaker and weaker offspring.

That's why there are so many moran hilly billies walking around on this earth.

And don't try to think I am a nazi or a fascist, because it are those morans I talk about who are just that. Their intellect doesn't reach far, so that's why they hate coloured people.

I think the next step in evolution should be getting to the future together, like the Oracle says in M2.

We should put aside our differences. In the end we are all humans with the same blood and hearts and we should work together like an army of ants instead of working against each other.

But how can we ever achieve such a thing when there are too much stupid people alive and keep making offspring? That's the downside of civilisation! It stagnates evolution.

There are two solutions to the problem:

-Kill the weak, which is offcourse not an option. Not only because it's cruel, also because different groups of people will be defining 'weak' in different interpretations.

-Have great leaders who instead of taking care of their own power and money, take care of society! Creating an environment were we all can work together towards a fruitfull, respectfull (also towards animals and nature) and co-operative future.

That would be true evolution!

do not try to bend the spoon that is impossible, instead only realize the truth... there is no spoon.

If that doesn't work for you you can try some Zen Koans...

Two monks were arguing about a flag waving in the wind... one saying it was the flag waving, the other that it was the wind that was waving. So they asked Hui-neng, the sixth Patriarch to help them settle the matter and he told them it was neither the flag nor the wind that was waving, but only their mind.

There are no anwsers, only choices.

That's exactly what the philosophers said on the commentary track at the spoonboy-sequence.

Yes, I am quoting myself Smile

Because that is exactly what is being shown in the movies.

Smith speaks of evolution in M1. He sees the humans as weak and his kind as being stronger and more intelligent. The Architect is of this same caliber. The truth is that they both hate humans and would rather exterminate them if it was not for their function/purpose they must fulfill. So, a wrong evolution! Because after the extermination of (weak) mankind the machines have less power and less purpose.

The Oracle however understands true evolution: combining powers, coursing into the future together.

Conclusion:

Thinking that you are superior to others and wanting to exterminate them is not evolution. Because when you exterminated them, then there are less resources for you own survival and development. What matters is the survival of the whole group: we cannot live without other people and other people cannot live without us...

...machines cannot live without humans and humans cannot live without machines.

True evolution is finding a balance between your ego and the collective.

I'm aware that Wilber mentioned it, but it doesn't change the fact that it remains very relavent to that particular question of truth and metaphysics and possibly quantom mechanics and the duality of so many things... I could throw in some you haven't heard if it makes you happy lol.

How about the (deleted part of the) end scene of 'The Matrix' :

NEO (V.O.)

I believe deep down, we both want
this world to change. I believe
that the Matrix can remain our
cage or it can become our
chrysalis, that's what you helped
me to understand. That to be
free, truly free, you cannot
change your cage. You have to
change yourself.

Too bad that didn't make the movie ...

Equality and freedom are not luxuries to lightly cast aside.

From the shooting script of the film

found in 'The Art of the Matrix'-book

or in the online version of the shooting script (see thread about online scripts on this forum)
