Has morpheus lost his faith?

At the end of realoaded Morpheus says "I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream is gone for me." This reminds me of the scene in matrix 1

Morpheus : Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was
real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How
would you know the difference, between the dream world...and
the real world....?"

and

"You've been living in a dream world, Neo. This...is the
world as it exists today. "

I am wondering if this quote by morpheus implies that he has lost his faith in the One and in the prophecy. Perhaps he feels that he has been living in a dream, and now he has finally woken up to the truth.

That is definitely the most touching scene in the whole movie of Reloaded. I felt so bad for Morpheus watching his ship blow up after hearing that the Oracle's prophecy was false and was created to control humans.

But then, Neo stops the sentinels... you gotta wonder what Morpheus thinks of that. Even if when he says that line he had totally lost faith, I'd imagine that after witnessing that, he'd have to pick up the pieces and believe again, maybe in a different way than before, but still...

But I dont sit idly by, I'm planning a big surprise, I'm gonna fight for what I want to be

Yea I agree StaticAge, it was quite touching. I think Morpheus didn't neccessarily lose faith in the one, but more in the prophecy after being told it wasn't real. I think his faith will be restored in Revolutions.

Yeah i agree, he must of felt extremely sorry for himself watching his ship blow up before his very eyes and also finding out that his life long ambition and belief was just a lie.

And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream and my spirit was troubled to know that dream.

The dream that the real King Nebuchadnezzar dreamt was about a huge statue of a man. His head was fine gold, his breasts and arms were silver, his belly and thighs were brass. His legs were iron and his feet were part iron part clay. Then a stone/rock falls from the sky and smites the statue scattering the constituent parts around the earth a covering the whole earth with shadow. The stone that did this then became a huge mountain. So kind of like an apocalyptic nightmare not unlike what happened to the dinosaurs. (though maybe without the statue) how this relates to the bible is that Daniel is asked to interprete the dream for the king. Which he does, he tells him that he is the head of gold and the this relates to his empire, and the subsequent rulers will not be as good as him and stuff like that. The king seems really pleased with the interpretation an excepts that Daniels God is "a God of Gods, and a lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou could reveal this secret." So he gave Daniel loads of stuff and made him a ruler, lucky git.

I also felt bad for Morpheous...but remember...Morpheous said...there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path...Morpheous knew the path up to a point...and so did the Oracle...Neo never really knew the path...ehhh..forgot where I was going with that idea..but anyway...Morpheous will beleive again...I beleive that.

You gotta hate it for Morpheus, no doubt. But, Morpheus was running on more than faith alone. I think faith is sort of like bubble wrap. It's great for filling in conceptual holes we don't understand and provides support for things we do believe we comprehend, but requires concurrence from core values. Also, just like bubble wrap, you can pop the holes when you are ready remove it** to plug in a better metaphysical construct, once your mind is ready to accept this newer, updated version of "the truth".
Just as Morpheus popped Neo's bubble wrap, Neo reciprocated by giving his mentor a red pill. Like Thomas Anderson fully embracing his destiny as Neo, the One, Morpheus will readjust, adapt and overcome in light of new information. One could say Morpheus was empowered by his belief in a path that would assure mankind's salvation. But the prophecy is just a path. One particular path to freedom is not, and should not be, as important as goal of freedom itself. (Especially when this path isn't even a path to freedom, but a guarantee of maintance of the status quo!)

** For the sake of parsimony, I have omitted the necessity of axioms, circular logic, paradocies and other intrisic weaknesses found in all major schools of thought. It would require indept discussion of Philosophy I am not prepaired to properly address.
