i was wondering if this whole lawsuit thing was just a hoax, and i found this site/thread.

anyway, i thought you guys could all use a good laugh. this is a judge's written decision in a case where a woman sued steven king for stealing her story. who knew intellectual property law could be so funny?

i bet thats not the whole truth about that case. we are probably being kept in the dark about it, because doesnt aol/time warner own the company that publishes Stepehn Kings books as well as everything else in the world, and they wont let anyone report on it? (or maybe its a stupid story that nobody cared to report on)

i bet that there is a lot more to it, i mean, it did make it to trial didnt it? so there must be substantial evidence that Stephen King ripped that woman off. right?

I think this one is more likely, but if it is true it's crazy how people think they can sue for anything. It's a way to make a quick buck.

no where in the article does it state that she sent King a copy of her manuscript or that they had contact in anyway, So its not the same. Sophia Stewart claim may seem like something out of left field but she also claims to have sent them a copy of her work. Thats a key issue.

Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles!!

the fact that the woman in the stephen king lawsuit claims that since her literary credentials are superior to kings (she went to ivy league/better schools, got a better education); therefore she says that king is not capable of producing good work.
