Anyone notice that the Oracle never exhales her smoke?

thats because Gloria foster didn't want to smoke them. did you also notice that she never takes big drags on them, nor does she ever finish one. You never see a non-smoking actor smoking properly on screen

That’s a fair point, however there is much attention drawn to the smoking and I don’t think the Wachowski’s would have omitted that detail unless they meant to…

The Oracle is often smoking right? Look at the manner in which she does. She lights up immediately after Neo says... "I think its time for me to know a few more things". Ironic isn't it? It’s giving us big clue right there. She inhales but DOESN’T breathe it out. Notice the point she refers to when we see it stubbed out. Then when alone at the table she inhales deeply, gives a little blow with her mouth and in comes the smith. Another little blow and... "Do what you’re here to do."

Smith represents the smoke she is inhaling. What’s her purpose? To UNBALANCE the equation… "You would know Mom". She, intuitively, spiritually is following purpose, drawing the "darkness" into one total manifestation to be balanced at..."You know where"

This is similar to her purpose in.. "baking them cookies and setting them there.. deliberately - purposefully" ..and Neo... "feeling right as rain" once he gets done eating what’s she’s been cooking for him.

It’s all in the subtext.

Inevitable and Over - It is Done

That’s kind of a contradiction in terms if the Wachowski’s have already determined them to be there, but I know what you mean... "Truth is in the eye of the beholder" ... "You have to see it for yourself"

Also:
The truth as it runs on the surface and through all things... It's right there in front of you.

When more and more truth discovered from hidden things confirms what’s running on the surface you know more assuredly the same message is being echoed throughout...

Inevitability

It’s a major truth from beginning to end. The only way the war was gonna be won was not through strength of Arms, neither through Vigilance, but Sacrifice. That’s how a red pill’s freedom was won. Before the unbalanced equation had to return to the prime program, its truth not yet realised, Zion destroyed. This was the terrible truth about ourselves that had to be faced, accounted for and re-balanced.

Of course there are many other levels to be seen like the fight with this truth.. Yin/Yang etc as well as accounting for man’s downfall before the Machine source consciousness, so as to make amends. (Truth in Relationships etc)

But for all the diff ways of seeing the many correlations, one truth remains...

Is it Over?

Everything that has a beginning has an end.

How you meet that end will be up to you, just like Neo’s choice from the beginning. You either accept and place your faith in the One who became your substitute balancing the law of karma or pay yourself, in the end. Wake up properly or stay asleep in your sins.


It is done

Of course this is where Neo’s messianic significance correlates with Christ and "Neo/Anderson" – the New Son of Man comes to LIGHT having been achieved from the paths end/culmination. It’s a Neo (new) day, its truth ever shining like the dawn, until the full light of day.

We still have to discover the path like Neo in order to encounter the truth, but sooner or later will find just as he did... "you were right smith, you were always right". Your OWN future will be in the Ones hands or your nemesis/yourself.

Thank God for Jesus becoming our saviour so we wouldn’t have to pay, just acknowledge the truth from having become enlightened.

I belive that the Oracles character is based off of a woman prophet that used to smoke and specically did not blow out the smoke. It was in relation to her utilizing her vision.


I wish that I had more on this. I can hardly remember the details. The main point is that everything in the trilogy has a purpose. Her not blowing out the smoke had nothing to do with Gloria foster. If that were the case, she would of not gotten the part.

If I can find more on this, I will report.
