What is the Matrix? School or prison, depending on your chosen perspective. On the one hand, it is a hyperdimensional teaching system accelerating your rate of spiritual evolution by providing you with catalytic experiences in response to your thoughts, emotions, and spiritual composition. On the other hand, many of these experiences manifest as predatory forces preying upon your weaknesses. The sum total of their hyperdimensional manipulation system can be termed the "Matrix Control System" – a school of hard knocks that weakens the spiritually weak and strengthens the spiritually strong, in accordance with their choice to be victims or warriors.

I'm trying to provide useful information on something I believed many of you here would embrace. Perhaps many of you are unwilling to take heed the spiritual advice offered in these movies as anything more than intellectual bread and circuses. The matrix has you.

i dont think the problem is choice. as the oracle said you have already made the choice. u now must understand WHY u made the choice. neo THINKS the problem is choice. but its not.

The problem is choice. Why they make the choices they do is the problem the Architect is trying to figure out in order to implement a more effective system of control.

When Neo said, "Choice, the problem is choice." I think he means the choice that the previous Ones followed, they chose a different path to lead. Thats why there had been five before, because they made the wrong choice.

Choice is a product of free will, manifested through action.
Action can be done only in the present moment.
You cannot act in the past.
You cannot act in the future.
Once a choice is acted upon, it is done, goes in the past and cannot be changed.
It becomes a cause for innumerable future effects, according to the implacable laws of causality, interacting with innumerable other phenomena.

The Oracle sounds like some kind of prophecy generator, speaking of things bound to happen. From a linear point of view of time, a choice is something already made.
Is a choice you do not make still a choice?

Even in the matrix, you still have free will.
(like when you play a game, you choose freely your moves)
Only that you take choices limited to/based on the inner world you live in.

At the time of their meeting, Neo and the architect have different problems.

"the problem" - whose problem?

If you have a problem, you can try to solve it through action, through your choices.

The architect in the matrix movie has no understanding of humans. He sees only their actions in the matrix:
"Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the Matrix."

After making a choice, you live its consequences.
If you do not make the choice, you live the conseqences of not making it.
Life is beyond understanding, anyway.

On the other hand, since we function mostly on automatic pilot, the "choices" we make are also automatic, and predictable, based on our limited understanding of outer things.

By understanding the reasons behind our own choices, we raise to a new level of awareness, I guess...
