Assuming Neo never did kill Bane (instead assume he just knocked Bane out), Neo thinks Bane is dead. So the ship crashes in the machine city, Trinity dies (she had to or else Neo's purpose would still be blinded by love, although love is what got him that far), and Neo goes out to the Deus Ex and gets plugged in. Neo gets his butt kicked very badly by Agent Smith but obviously doesn't get killed yet....then back in the real world during Neo's fight in the Matrix, Bane gets out of the ship (now wouldn't this be sweet) not knowing where he is! Then he sees Neo plugged in, then all the sudden the Deus Ex plugs in Bane to his surprise. Neo is nearly dead in the Matrix, when all the sudden all the agent Smith's turn white and split apart, being deleted! This all would go back to when Smith said 'I knew what I was supposed to do, but I didn't'....When Smith said this, he meant he was supposed to go to the source to be deleted instead of hiding out in the Matrix and doing his dirty work. But his fate of being on that ship, trying to kill Neo in the real world would lead him to the source, where his code would be deleted when the Deus Ex plugged him in and took authority over him. Neo would somehow get out of the Matrix and would go back to Zion....a happy ending, Does it sound cool or not? I know it's probably full of many 'flaws' and stuff, but I think it would be much better than the ending they had!

Not bad but I kinda like the mysterious ending like it is. I'm so sick of those generic "Guy saves world and gets girl" endings. I like the matrix ending and thought M3 was way better than M2.

i think ur endin to the movie woulda been tyte...yea there might be some flaws...but i think the person of the end of the movie was to leave u wonderin... if u end the matrix the way u said it, it would be just like any other movie in which the hero lives the bad guy dies and the hero becomes and unstopabble force in which no enemy can deafeat....soo the way the wachowski brothers ended the movie seemed fit to me cuz it seemed like it went in the direction it was tryin to go...

I like that ending, it´d have been breathtaking watching Smith approaching to Neo to kill him and then get plugged...but I believe that The Matrix broke the way to tell and show a story, and so, an unexpected and sad but full of hope end is great.

The matrix rev eneded it in the best way ever and there could be no other ending possibily better then that or even possible because neo couldn't live without trinity

It doesn't make sense. Once Smith is deleted from the Matrix, Neo should be deleted too.

THey exist for the sole purpose of fighting each other and rebooting the Matrix.

If the Deus Ex Machina lets Neo go, then how are they gonna reboot the Matrix?

Remember all those clouds and how the Matrix looked like it was falling apart?

Without Neo going back to the Source, the Matrix would implode and everyone would die, even if Smith didn't take it over.

Smith only died because Neo did. I have a feeling if Smith died, the Deus Ex Machina would have killed Neo too anyway.

those endings are rather typical i admit the ending was not the best it could have been but it was a twist to normal endings and ur ending was gd but needed a bit of fine tuning

That idea helps me figure out a great idea for an ending.

At one point during M3, Bane (posessed by Smith) while on his quest to kill Neo in the real world, happens to realize where he is. Zion, a city in which, as counsellor Hommon had said, humans rely on machines and machins rely on humans. because of this, Bane/Smith realizes the futility of the struggle between man and machine. Keep in mind that all the rest of the Smiths in the Matrix are still human haters. Another reason for Bane/Smith's change is because he is actually in a flesh body. Bane/Smith realizes that because him and Neo are so alike, it will take both of them to save the matrix and its inhabitants. Neo fights Smith in the Matrix alongside Trinity in their first fight together since the lobby scene (just my idea!), while the lone Bane/Smith in the Matrix (who looks exactly the same as the other smiths) travels to the source and infects the architect, transferring his information about the futility of the war into him. He then inserts himeslf into the source releasing the people Smith had posessed throughout the Matrix. Because of the new information found by Bane/Smith, the machines realize the futility of the struggle and the movie ends similarly to the way we see it now, except with both Neo and Trinity alive.

... would have been ending the Matrix after the first movie. Neo didn't do anything in the sequels he was prophetized to do. Time and time again, Morpheus said that Neo was going to destroy the Matrix and save the humans trapped inside. Did anything like that happen? No. Instead we get a whole new story, with 6 other incarnations of Neo, ghosts, vampires, the Merovingian, blah blah blah...

So, if I were to make a new Matrix movie, it would be the sequels as they were supposed to be made.

Didn't you get anything that happened in the sequels? The prophecy was meant to be just another layer of control. It had been for every 'the one' that came forth in the matrix.
However this time the orcale had a plan to bring peace, and she gave Neo the ability to choose between peace and war.

You have to understand that not everything The Prophecy states is true. Think of it as a guide line. The Prophecy is used to direct The One to the source, where then The Architect tells the One what to do from there.

The Prophecy is somewhat of a lie:
Neo: "It was a lie, Morpheus. The prophecy was a lie. The One was never meant to end anything. It was all another system of control."

- It was another way of manipulating the One to go to the Source and recycle the system. The only way The One actually has a chance to end the war, is if he chooses the left door. The door back to The Matrix. This way they all have a chance to stand up and fight. This way Neo has a chance to go to The Machine City and make a deal with Deus Ex Machina:

Neo: I only ask to say what I've come to say, after that, do what you want and I won't try to stop you.
Deus Ex Machina: Speak.
Neo: The program 'Smith' has grown beyond your control. Soon he will spread through this city as he spread through the Matrix. You cannot stop him, but I can.
Deus Ex Machina: We don't need you. We need nothing.
Neo: If that's true, then I've made a mistake and you should kill me now.
Deus Ex Machina: What do you want?
Neo: Peace.
Deus Ex Machina: And if you fail?
Neo: I won't.
