»New Theatrical Release«

I was just wondering what people thought considering another Theatrical Release of The Matrix Trilogy.

Does anyone think that there could be a re-release of the three movies in theaters again in the future?

I mean I don't think it would happen anytime soon, because it would hurt DVD and DVD Boxset sales, but sometime in the future.

i know of some places that shows them. Most college theatres will have like a weekend a year where they will watch it. I know of a place in england that was gonna show all three of them in a row. kinda cool to do. If i owned a local theatee i would show them once a year and make bank off of the one night!

I never had a chance to catch the IMAX releases.

Yeah, my school did that last fall, and they'd show movies for free every weekend, a few months after their theatrical releases. They have a license to do so because showing movies to crowds that have a certain ammount of people without permission is illegal. It's something to do if you're bored and can't find anything to do.

But I'd really like to know if this would be a real possibilty because for instance I never saw the original Matrix in a theatre but on T.V.

I definitely would of liked to have seen the movies in IMAX.

Our city didnt have an IMAX theater back when the first Matrix was released (were there any IMAX theaters back in 99? I dont remember). But then they build one when Reloaded was released, I didnt have a chance to catch it. By the time Revolutions was released they destroyed our IMAX theater because no one hardly ever went there.

I think they will re-release all 3 films world wide, but like 30 years from now. Probably when IMAX takes over as the standard for movie theaters.

Damn 30 years. That would be too long for me. If it happens I'd like to see it happen sometime within the next five years.

Yeah 30 yrs is a pretty long time, but I still think its a good idea. A new generation of Matrix fans will be born.
