In M2 Smith talk to Neo: "Something that I knew was impossible, but it happened anyway. You destroyed me, Mister Anderson..."

What it is mean "destroy"???

As I understand it is mean delete. If it is so then who restored Smith???

Neo destroyed him like an agent, Smith is not more an agent, he must goback to the source, but he did not do that, like twins, warewolft, etc.

Destroyed = took away the purpose = made purposeless

i think of it like this.. if a file on your computer gets corrupted.. it's still there but the system dosent (and can't ) use it.

In the first film Neo jumps into Smith's body and causes him to explode. In Smith's speech before the burly brawl he says he knew what he was supposed but chose to disobey. You must think of the matrix on the lines of a computer, just because you delete the program doesn't mean it leaves your harddrive, not until you reconfigure (Neo choosing the right door and reinserting the primary code). Smith chose exile, and in his disobedience(or the fact that something was copied or overwritten in him) became what we'd term a virus. C'mon people, the matrix is a computer program. Let's start using some common sense
