Perhaps I'm wrong, but if you take form a religious and spiritual point of view- Neo has, in a sense, overcome death and reached immortality. He has broken the cycle of his Karma(to create a new iteration of the matrix) and thus, has become one with the spirit of the universe, which is immortal. He can never return, he has attained, as we Hindus say- Mooksh and shall never again be reincarnated as another 'One'.

But Boudha is still coming back, right ? I heard that when you reach the Nirvana, you have the right to stay in...erh...wherever you go when you are enlightened, or else come back to help others to reach Nirvana too.

Anyway, Thomas Anderson did die because there is a plate on the bench where the Oracle was sitting when she met the Architecte, and that plate is dedicated to the death of Anderson.

The rebels jacking into the matrix can be compared to the buddhist term boddhisatva which basically is someone who is about to reach enlightenment/nirvana but waits in order to help others but once you have reached it I don't think you can go back but hey what do I know. And yes Neo died but his spirit might live on or something I have no idea. The Neodämmerung lyrics say from delusion lead me to truth M1 from darkness lead me to light M2 and from death lead me to immortality, M3 perhaps?. The best thing is to as someone said make up your own damn mind. And M3 is fantastic.

From delusion lead me to truth.
From darkness lead me to light.
From death lead me to immortality.

Even though I don't think Neo will be back (I believe his mind will return some day in the future - the mind of The One) I like this interpretation because it is true. Thomas Anderson did die, atleast his mind (the matrix), but Neo's spirit (Zero-One, machine city) lives on.

Yes, even if the body of the poor Neo is still alive, I doubt that his brain survived otherly than as a program.

There will be a Matrix 4 (Rebooted). I would have never thought it if it wasn't for Neo being carted off by the machines and the view was that of what Neo would see (gold/orange code). Then the Oracle when asked would they see him again says, "I suspect so". Why would she say that if she hadn't seen into the future. We might have to wait awhile for the next film but it's coming.

Remember, the light/gold code represents spirit. Neo's spirit, and mind are still alive, but his flesh and body are no longer living.

I thought Neo saw the light/gold code because his eyes was burnt by Bane/Smith in the fight they had aboard the Logos.

I believe that M4 is matrix online, and not a movie, because it is set after the final battle with Neo and Smith, and after the conversation between the orical and the arcitect in the park.

As for Neo is pyhsical body is dead, but like El Escogido said is mind and soul are still alive.

And as for the Dos ExMachina (machine God) line: "IT IS DONE!", he said that to let us know that it was over, that everthing was normal agian. It could also be that the machine god said it to the sentinals in zion, to let them know that the battle was over and to keep their (all of the machines) end of the deal. - just a thouught.

That's a good point. Every time we see a golden code, it was showing how Neo was seeing it. So if we still can see it, it means that Neo is still alive somehow.

Also, all the sentinel-like machines were not very shiny, but we see Neo shinning almost as much as Deus EX. So it must come from him (on this pic we clearly see that the machine is orange and the shinning effect is coming from the body of Neo) :

Note the 3 pairs of "wings", Seraphs are known to be angels of 3 pairs of wings, each one smaller than the others.

Hmmm I'm not so sure, the pic above seem to prove the contrary. My personal theory is that every program is stored in human beings (or shared amongst several humans). Neo has become a program, just like Bane did, except that Neo accepted it and became a man who functiuns like a program, wich is the state that everyone should reach in the matrix in order to have it equilibrated.

I completely agree with this.

And I know the picture shows Neo's body giving off immense light, but again this is his Spirit and in a sense his mind. There is no proof when we see the "body" shot (represented by the color blue) that his body is alive. But again this is just what I think.

Neo was also completly immobile while he was in Mobil Ave, it does not mean that he was dead. I think that Neo has become a pure program and therefor he is completly submerged by the golden world and his physical body does not matter to him anymore. As they say in Second Renaissance "your body is merely a vessel".

At the moment there will be NO Matrix 4. However, I do believe that they will make one 50, or so, years from now and with ofcourse different actors. As we saw in the Animatrix, the machines are obiously far more advandced than the humans when they healed the injured soldiers. Maybe they couldve revived Neo. Then Sati at the end said that she specifically made the sun rise just for Neo, then she asked the Oracle if they will see him again. I've also read somewhere around here that Neo couldve actually been a program, which means that he had to have to chose to be deleted or hide in The Matrix as an exile. Guess we'll have to find out on The Matrix Online.
