Ok, I believe that Sati was created to instill the powers of 'the One' into Neo when he was supposed to enter the source. But of course we already knew that. And of course we also know that Neo doesn't enter the source, so therefore Sati becomes obselete, she does not have a surpose. Therefore she is to be deleted. Until the Oracle gives Sati's 'parents' her Termination Code because she realises how important Sati is. They then go to Merv and make a deal: safe passage for Sati out of the Mainframe in return for the destruction of the Oracle. However what Merv doesn't know is that the Oracle can find another shell. So when Sati leaves she goes and stays with the Oracle.

Now when Smith assimilates Sati, he gains the powers Neo was supposed to gain, giving him the ability to manipulate and alter the Matrix.

Voila! You got it! It might not be right, but it is the closest you will get to the correct answer without the movies creators spelling it out for us.

I've been trying to figure out what's Sati's purpose as well. The Oracle said in the future she would change both worlds(the Matrix & the Machine City). But in Revolutions you don't see that. As far as I'm concerned she will play a major role in the Matrix Rebooted on down the road. Obviously she has a special purpose or she wouldn't have been included in Revolutions, hope I don't have to play the online game to find out! My computer doesn't have the requirements for the Matrix Online.

I think you're really missing the point here.

In the end, regardless of what happens Neo would end up in Mobile Ave. Why? Because he would have seperated his mind from his body.

Maybe he doesn't meet Sati's parents there and meets someone else. Maybe he doesn't meet anyone and the scene just skips to Trinity forcing the Merovingian to give Neo up. Or maybe he does meet Sati's parents and they just give Neo a lesson and forshawdowing of love. Yeah you never really will know.

It has to be understood that Gloria Foster's death was extremely critical to the film. This is why you have to take in to account the credibility of Sati's purpose. That's what has to be understood.

I have just found the conversation El Escogido was referring to from ETM. It is between Ghost and the (New) Oracle.

Ghost: "Can you tell me what happened to you?"
Oracle: "Two programs that I trusted sold the termination code of my original shell to the Merovingianingian."
Ghost: "Why did they do that?"
Oracle: "For love. For the life of their child."
Ghost: "You knew about it, and yet you let it happen?"

Ultimately, I think people have their minds made up upon certain issues, just as I think what I think of Sati. Maybe this will help, however.

I never doubted that the oracle said that, or that her codes were sodl to free Sati. How many times do I have to say that? But one thing is in no way related to the other. Just because Sati's parents sold the Oracles termination codes to save Sati, does not mean Sati was invented to explain the Oracles shell.

Let me say it again. If I have a job today, and tommorow I buy a car, then the next day I drive that car to my job, I dont know have a job because of the car, I already had the job. There is a relationship between my job and getting to work that day using my new card, but it does not mean one thing cuased the other.

Kind of. She is a different kind of program altogether to the Oracle. Sati was never designed to be a stand-alone program, rather a string of code (that had been compiled into a program for convenience' sake) to be integrated into Neo.

Another reason why I like this idea is because it seems kind of like The Oracle is really taking Sati under her wing. As if to say, I may not be here much longer, so it is important you know what I do for the preservation of both worlds.


Other similarities are like Seraph protecting Sati, and solely her, just as he did for the Oracle. Even after the matrix is reloaded in Revolutions Sati comes foward with Seraph, as if this was his new purpose.

I don't believe that they wanted to change the Oracle's appearance before the actress died because in one of the Special Feature things on Reloaded Laurence Fishburne says that the death of Gloria meant that they had to figure out a way to explain that the Oracle is going to change...Still I believe that Sati would be in it either way because Sati is not the reason that the Oracle changed...Sati's parents chose to give the Oracle's code to Merv...So just say they didn't give the code then Sati would still be in it but with the different Oracle. That's what I think.

Exactly.

Really the only real hypothsis that was suggested that I am not able to accept is that the character Sati was created to explain why the Oracle changed bodies.

This is extremely relevant to the movies and to Sati. It's been my point all along.
