I was thinking that the One is not coming back since the problem the machine had the one that created the anomaly was choice now that problem does not exist anymore. because the people that wanna get out will get out only staying the ones that enjoy their fantasy reality within the matrix. So unless the peace between humans and machines the one will not be needed by the system anymore.

If this is a christian allegory (like the crucixion scene suggests) then he'll come again refers to the second coming of christ and proves that the program part of Neo still lives even though his body has been carted away.

Another interpretation put forward by a friend of mine was that Sati now has Neo's program in her and if the peace ends then she will be the next "one" to fight for the humans.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

Btw the gnostic interpretation is that the major God of which all things are comprised is perfect. However, the mother God (sophia, wisdom) creates something without the major god and as a result she produces the demiurge - a deluded creature that believes it is the only god and not a product of a larger transcendance.

Sophia does not want to destroy the demiurge and lets him continue to exist. However, he creates a world (unknowingly using sophia's powers) to glorify himself. As a result some of the goodness of sophia is trapped in the world.The falling out between the demiurge and man is supposed to be seen in the second chapter of genesis.

The gnostics saw christ as a product of sophia and the major god. As a contrast to the arrogant demiurge. He is seen as freeing the diamonds (humans) from the mud (the world).

Anyway - there are plenty of places to read about gnosticism but basically:

The oracle = Sophia
The architect = The demiurge
Neo = Christ
(Sati = holy spirit?)

BTW I am not a religious nut - lots of people think the Matrix intentionally mirrors this religious view.

Good point, and that is a true possibility. And I believe The One could some day return, and by way of the machines. I believe that when Neo died, and his body was carted away that his mind was saved in case of a chaotic situation reappearing (like another SMith-like virus) - in order to defeat it.

There will be another One. The problem with the matrix was never fixed. With the truce in place the machines simply won't try and stop the people that wake up from leaving.

Whether or not it will ultimately be corrected by the Architect in order to stop people from waking up and thus eliminating the One remains to be seen.

Exactly. I just don't necessarily think it will be Sati. I think that role will be determined when the situation is at hand, and it will be placed on another pod-born human.
