Matrixsoft

Q: What is the Matrixsoft?
A: Control. The Matrixsoft is a computer-generated entertainment network built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into a consumer.

Introduction

Present situation

Since the advent of the Internet we have witnessed emergence of virtually every kind of business on the Net. However it has turned out that the real business still has serious obstacles to unleash its full potential in the virtual environment. Therefore businesses over the Network have adopted it merely for the sake of advertisement of their products and services.

The idea

The idea of the Matrixsoft Entertainment is to combine business advertisement and interactive entertainment industries into a Network of potential consumers of the advertised there businesses by means of already existing computer games. It’s a unique combination of the existing technologies in order to make advertisement much more fun and effective. Any existing enterprise would be able to join the Network by implementing on its side some yet to come protocols ensuring the compatibility of their products with any other kind of products over the Net and thus enabling the customers easily move from one to another as if it would be not annoying surfing, but rather an adventurous trip to and fro the new interactive virtual world by means of playing their favorite games and engaging the same products advertised in any applicable environment in a vast variety of forms (sounds like IBM’s BIG®?).

Example

The game part

For example, players of Quake® would be able to enter the world of StarCraft® and still play Quake but in the different world, created by StarCraft players. The same way players of StarCraft would be able to enter the world of Civilization® and still play StarCraft there, in the different world, created by Civilization players. All these and other games, compatible with the Matrixsoft Network, would enable their players to influence the other games’ scenarios. Knowing this, players of different games would be able to gather in teams, where different and particular genre experienced gamers with their special skills could be employed in any event related to their favorite genre. Players still would be able to choose between real colleagues/opponents and AI ones, as well as the whole playing environment between the real and/or training simulation snapshots of the real or artificially customized modes. This way would look the fun game part.

The advertisement part

The advertisement of the real world products would come as a form of virtual resource gathering. In every game there are some limited things such as life, health, strength, experience, special skills and credits. The capacity of these things in any Matrixsoft compatible game mode would depend on players’ prior- or pos-game consumption of the real world product advertisement. For example, players of StarCraft, prior to playing the game would go to a virtual energy plant where they would interactively participate in consumption of a real advertisement of chosen products. The process would include such activities as watching/clicking ad banners, answering quizzes about these products, putting puzzles of logos or simply searching for hidden treasuries on particular business companies’ sites. The gathering of the energy points (also known as Credits) should be as close to a game-style as possible, but the main focus should be given to the advertisement.

Then...

After gathering the desired amount of Credits player would go to his game and from the menu would chose how much of these Credits in his account, safely stored on the Matrixsoft source-server, should be used in this game. This way gazers and crystal plants in StarCraft would have custom capacity of resources, which players would gather with SCVs during the game. If a player looses the control over his plant to his opponent, the opponent would benefit from these resources, thus decreasing for himself the need to participate in the real advertisement consumption. The loosing one however could do additional exploration/drills in apparently empty territories discovering/establishing new gazers and/or crystal plants and assigning to them another amount of his Credits from his account. Or he could choose to give up and quit. In such case the winner would be left to gather the looted resources, unless something unexpected would happen...

"Real" life options

A player would be able to choose to go after advertisement gathering prior the game or after it. In such case he could apply for a credit of the ad-plant controlling "bank" if he would be able to prove that he is reliable customer and able to "pay" his virtual debts in the reasonable future. Reliability of a player would be determined by the length of his participation in the Matrixsoft’s Network, history of his real purchases of the real products, experience and skills.

Player’s experience would depend on his success in gaming (as in battle.net® Ladder). Proof of skills would be gained by passing real exams (for example at Brainbench®) on particular subjects.

Conclusion (of the introduction)

This or similar way of funny gaming, effective advertisement and even passionate motivation for self-education could be combined into one thing called something like Matrixsoft Entertainment Network.

By the way...
