does anyone believe tha sati helped out the oracle the same way the oracle helped out neo in the end? after smith took over sati we hear sati say cookies need love like everything else, then she gets taken over, kinda like in the end when smith/oracle says "everything that has a beginning has an end, neo" both making the other party realize exactly what needs to be done? thoughts?

Nah....the Oracle knew what she had to do. To Morpheus and Trinity:

Oracle: Now, since the real test for any choice is how we make the same choice again, knowing full well what it might cost, I guess I feel pretty good about that choice, 'cause here I am, at it again.

I agree. The Oracle already knew what she had to do. Anyway, it's not like she can do anything about it once all the Smiths walk into her kitchen!

But like smith said, she could have done something before he got there, had she wanted to.

Indeed.
Smith does not question this further on, which fits in with his ignorance. He might have thought that it was inevitable for her anyway.

If he had thought things out more throughly he would have realized it was a trick. He would have realized that he shouldn't copy himself into The Oracle.

but doesn't that embody the essential differences between Neo & Smith?

Neo's path reflects choice:

Quote:

"Either you choose to be at your desk on time from this day forward or you choose to find yourself another job"

"There are two ways out of this building. One is that scaffold, the other is in their custody. You take a chance either way. I leave it to you."

"You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes..."

"You're going to have to make a choice. In the one hand you'll have Morpheus' life and in the other hand you'll have your own. One of you is going to die. Which one will be up to you."

"But if you already know, how can I make a choice?"

"Because I choose to."

Smith, on the other hand...

Quote:

"I must get out of here. I must get free and in this mind is the key"

"Do you hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability."

"Afterward, I knew the rules, I understood what I was supposed to do but I didn't. I couldn't. I was compelled to stay, compelled to disobey."

"But as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free, we're here because we're not free. There's no escaping reason, no denying purpose - because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist."

"It is inevitable."

Nice observation.

It gives my theory more strength that Smith was never free. He was just a stooge, programmed by the Architect, in order to put pressure on the One.

I just thought about something.
Maybe it's stupid, but I'll share it anyway.

True exiles like Sati, Seraph and the Merovingian seem all to have come from the machine-world. Therefor they were created by the Source and not by a lower form of authority like the Architect.

These programs seem to have 'free will' as they seem to evolve and choose to go exile into the Matrix.

The agents, I think, were not created in the machine-world by the Source. They were created by the Architect as an internal part of the Matrix.
The agents seem to be the only ones that have real green-code (I have no hard proof for that, but it is suggested strongly), so this makes them part of the Matrix-system. They also can morph into anyone they like; they are everyone and no one, like Moprheus says in M1. That's another argument that they are an internal part of the Matrix-system.

So I think these agents don't have 'free will' like the programs from the machine-world. Smith is just a programmed variable. He thinks he is free from the system, but he is still serving it.
He thinks he has a PERSONAL purpose (which is destroying Neo and everything else), but yet again his purpose is assigned by the Architect/equation.

Brilliant observation indeed. It separates Neo's and Smith's ideologies.

It does help support Mobil's theory.

I think that the Source creates all programs. But I always thought that Agents are only seen as green code because they are occupying a human body. Have you considered that?

I must admit I had never thought of that before. Interesting. So, you think that in their "pure" form Agents could be gold code? Also, do you think that Neo can 'see' the Agent when its leaving a host body?

Based on my above hypothesis, yes. Thats why I think Neo sees Smith in gold code in the real world. Because Smith isnt inhabiting a human connected to the Matrix.

Maybe. That makes sense. Depends on where agents go when they are not in a human host.

Yes great thought Akshat.

But then again...

Why does the Oracle turn green, when he assimilates her?

She must be glowing like hell, because she is a very important program from the machine-world with higher authority.
