Matrix is a cage in which humans are grown.
Grown & kept there for their entire life.
And during their etire life, they are used as battery cell to derive energy from their body.
Thus, matrix is a powerhouse for AI machines to derive energy.
Because solar energy is no longer available as the sky is clouded all the time.
This happenned during the war. Between man & machine. Far in future. Time unknown.
However, humans in the matrix are given an illusion that they are living in 20th century.
But to keep all humans in matrix is not an easy task. Because some of them reject it.
And when they do, they come out of it & form a colony out side matrix called ZION.
The real world outside the matrix world. The city where humans think they are free.
As matter of fact, they are kept under check of the AI.
Actually, this is a rejection of matrix which causes the escalating probability of disaster.
The matrix needs to survive. And therefore ZION must be destroyed after allowing certain
degree of rejection like 0.1% When matrix rejection exceeds this ratio, the AI destroys ZION.
And takes 23 people (16 females & 7 males) from matrix to re-build ZION.
The matrix was created by an Artificial Intelligence personified as an Architect. He has created
several versions of matrix. The first version was perfect, which the Architect prefers to call
a harmony of the mathematical precision. But humans can not digest perfection therefore was rejected,
eventually causing its monumental failure.
Next time Architect learns & creates imperfect world of matrix for people inside matrix. This version
has wars, disasters, destructions, violence. But still was rejected by the people. Hence Architect had
to re-create another version. But every time he creates a matrix, he leaves some unknown systemic anomaly
unintentionally because of which it is not fully accepted by the people. The Architect needs to
find out an answer.
Someone with less mind or perhaps no mind, could find the answers. Therefore Architect creates
an intuitive program called ORACLE. She studies deep psyche of humans to find out what is the missing
link in the matrix because of which it is being rejected repeatedly. And ORACLE comes with an answer.
The Choice. As long as humans are given choices, they do not reject. Even if humans are aware of
the choices at sub-conscious level, they will not reject. This is just a discovery. Now Architect
needs some one to gather information about what choices are needed in the system.
As an outcome because of the anomaly, a programme is created known as the ONE. The function of the
one is to live in matrix for some time (during which undoubtedly he gathers systemic information)
& finally return to the source. After which, a temporary dissemination of the ONE programme is done &
then he is asked to choose 23 people (7 males & 16 females) to rebuild ZION.
There are many matrix versions created & an Architect prefers to count 6 of them. Everytime, the ONE
performs the function as he is supposed to. The ONE is given all choices in order to perform the
task & thus is able to bend or even break the rules applied to the matrix world. And at the end,
ONE is given 2 choices, either to re-enter matrix which will end the ZION as well as all people
connected to matrix. Another choices is to destroy ZION completely but select 23 people from matrix
to rebuild ZION. The other ONEs had generic love for their human species & thus chose the way by which
humans survived in ZION. But this time, the NEO refuses to surrender the code he carries which has
the information gathered throughout his life. And thus opens the other door to save Trinity's life.
This is because NEO experiences far more specific thing, LOVE.
But why does Architect allow the ONE to chose 23 people from matrix for ZION?
Just imagine, if Architect did not allow the ONE at all to chose people for ZION & just let ZION
be destroyed completely? Would the ONE choose to do so? Ofcourse not. The ONE was human too & would
like to save human species. Therefore most obvious choice of every ONE would be to chose people from
matrix to re-build ZION.In a way, Architect is keeping the ratio of matrix rejection in control. Till he finds the ultimate
solution for it. Then he would not need the ONE. But till then, he has to rely on the ONE. And ORACLE
who knows deep human psyche, guides ONE to the source when the time comes.
But why does Architect need the ONE?
The ONE is the link between those with powers & those without. The link between the matrix system
& ZION people who rejected the matrix. Thus, ONE has fair idea why people rejected matrix.
This inormation is required by the Architect in order to analyse & avoid that anomaly in the next
version of the matrix. NEO is code as well as human. Actually, NEO is Mr. Thomas Anderson who carries
the code of ONE. And this code has to return to the source from where it came. And therefore NEO
is always guided by Oracle so that he reaches the source, the machine mainframe.
Then why the ONE has so many powers?
NEO can bend or break certain rules of the matrix world. In other words, he has control over many
things in matix. As mentioned earlier, NEO is the link between those with powers & those without,
he is linked with the system. And this system allows him to do what others can not do.
Like fighting & stopping agents, protecting ZION people, conquer the old servants who have chosen
exile but gained more power & doing something that they are not supposed to be doing;
like Mherovingian. To do all this, one needs extra ordinary capabilities & that is what is given to one.
Why Smith is always after NEO?
Smith tried to stop NEO when Smith was agent. Even after coming out of the agent business, Smith is
becoming barrier for NEO. Is it that Smith wants something from NEO? When Smith was an agent of the
system, he tried to stop NEO because NEO helped ZION people like Morpheus. And Those were the people
who rejected matrix. So certainly, agents of the system can not allow matrix rejection. But NEO killed
Smith. However, Smith reappeared & found that he was no more agent but still was part of the system.
Smith essentially wanted to get out of Matrix because he considered Matrix as cage from the beginning.
After reincarnation, Smith is not an agent but still a part of the matrix system. And this compells him
to think that he is not free. There is no escape. One fact he knows is that programs get deleted when
their purpose is destroyed. And feeling his own existence in matrix Smith figures out that his purpose
is not yet accomplished. And that brings him to meet NEO repeatedly.
Why Smith tries to kill NEO?
Simply Smith's purpose is to destroy NEO. And unless he does so, he is not free. The machine keeps Smith
alive all the time. The machine does this because it knows that NEO this time is different. He is not
surrendering the code of the ONE that he carries. And the only way to stop him is Smith. This time
the machine seems to have taken a blind step by keeping Smith alive & Smith has taken undue advantage.
He has blocked every hole in the matrix & taken a control of the matrix at greater degree. And that
results Smith uncontrollable by the machine.
How does the war end?
Now, there are many things at once.
1. Fight between NEO & Smith.
2. Fight between Machine & ZION.
3. Smith as a trouble for Matrix system.
4. Neo not surrendering to the Machine.
Neo gathers all this & analyses the situation carefully. Saving ZION is the first priority. So, the war
between Machine & ZION has to be stopped. But for that he has to stop Machine because ZION is simply
reacting to the Machine's attack. He notices Smith as an indigestible particle for Machine as he machine
has lost control over it. And the only one who can stop him is the ONE. And that is NEO. So, Neo puts
a condition before Machine that he can stop Smith but in return machine will have to settle for
the PEACE. Machine has no other option left but to accept NEO's condition & makes peace with ZION.
Now it is NEO's move to stop Smith. Neo is well aware that Smith will exist because of the ONE. So,
the death of the ONE is inevitable for the death of Smith. But NEO first choese to fight with Smith.
NEO is tired in the end but has not given up. Smith is frustrated because of NEO not giving up. And
finally asks him that why he gets up everytime. NEO explains that he has gained the ultimate choice.
He finally gives himself up & lets Smith copy his code over him. This overwrites ONE. The Smith is copied
on to NEO. But outside matrix, the machine has NEO. So, the machine gains control over Smith through
NEO's body & deletes Smith. This way, the Smith is destroyed, the matrix is reloaded.
This way, both the world are safe. The matrix & the ZION. It did before too. But this time, there is
something new between them instead of war, THE PEACE.
