After reading some other threads, I think I finally get it. Smith assimilates Neo. Neo is connected to the source. therefore, Smith connects to the source and can be deleted. Not sure if this is really the case, but it's something I can finally get my mind around. the Brothers putting together some RIGHT answers for all of our questions sure would be nice. It's fun guessing, but it's more fun when we know we are on target. Just a thought.

Yeah, that's the conclusion most of us came to.

Most of us had initially said: Neo and Smith join together and cancel each other out - end of story.

However, it is actually more complicated than that. Smith, we have been told, is a part of the one. It is another part of the equation. By joining together Smith finally makes Neo whole and when they both return to the source, that which no longer has a purpose is destroyed.

As we were told, the code Neo carries will be returned to the matrix. The question some of us are now asking is - has the code gone to Sati? Is Sati the next one? (Remember that Sati means "sacrifice") Or is there another human or program out there waiting to inherit the one code?

Or is there another theory entirely? After all why would they need a one if there is no war anymore? Does the war have to start again for the one to manifest itself?

I belive "the prime program" is Smith. The architect says "a temporary dissemination". Temporary because after Smith goes to the source he will be deleted.

NOW it makes sense.... but to attempt to answer you're question, "after all why would they need a one if there is no war anymore". since the matrix was reloaded anyway there will automatcially be a new ONE because of the matrix code and the fact that human beings want choice. choice is what creates the anomoly in the first place.

and as far as a truse, i dont think there will ever be a solid truse. if you were human (and you are ) wouldnt you still find a way to reclaim you're once dominant status? as for the machines, wouldnt u expect them to happen and have a contingency plan?
