Residual hair length

Hi, I have a counter-argument for the theory of Neo's hair proving that the end of Matrix 1 takes place after Revolutions. He is obviously in the Matrix, since he can only fly there, his hair length still comes from his residual self-image. Anyway, this sight is great!

It does, It does...!

I've been thinking about that myself...

Some think that the final scene of Matrix I, could be the ending to the trilogy.
This because of the dates we see, AND because of the fact that Neo's hair couldn't have grown that much in the timespan (starting bold when freed from the Matrix)

But as the topicstarter already says:
Neo is inside the Matrix when he makes the phonecall.
And inside of the Matrix you look like the image you have of yourself inside your mind.
If Neo pictures himself with 'normal' hearlength, then it doesn't matter if he is almost bold in the real world.

No, still don't grasp it.

Still don't get it.

If the beginning of Matrix 1 (in the cocoon=bald) and the ending of Matrix 1 (in the jack-in-chair=short hair) is nowhere near 19 months later BUT THE LAST SCENE (inside=telephone booth) is 19 months later than the first scene (inside=Trinity calling), then it could play indeed after Revolutions.

However, as I write on

matrix-explained.com...

there are counter-arguments

Watch the matrix again...in the training programs he has normal length hair...infact anytime he is in the matrix he has normal length hair...the only time he's bald is in the "real world"...at the end of the movie his hair is the same as it has always been but he's wearing his old style coat, not his new one from M2. This leads me to believe that it is concurrent to the theory that the timeline is going in sequence and that the original poster is grasping for ideas.

It still is not making any sense to me....

What does Neo's Hair length got to do with anything?

Every time Neo goes into the Matrix or any virtual world - he's got hair. It's his residual self image.... doesn't matter if he's got an afro, mullet or dreadlocks in the real world.

I guess it is possible to change your self-image in the matrix?? For sure Neo can do this if he wants.

I think what the original post was trying to say that Neo's Hair + Clothes at the end of M1 is different from his Hair/clothes from Reloaded/Revolutions therefore voiding the idea that the end of M1 is the end of Revolutions.
