Could the Machine God be right? is it finished?

The impression I'm getting having just watched the movies again for the third time is that when the machine god said "it is finished" is that all the failed matrixes and reincarnations of the One were all part of his plan. I think that Merv was right about how every "choice" is just going where one is being lead to go. Everything that happened in their universe lead every program and every person to lead Neo to his purpose, to come to the machine god, and end the war and I guess the matrix as it had been known. My guess for a reason why is that the god wanted man to be batteries only for a time, but not for ever -- it would explain why Zion would need to be at all (the reason for the machines to want the continued existance of the rebels has always confused me; it should be easier to not pick 23 new inhabitants of Zion and let all that wake just die. anyway) The continued cycle of uprising and quelling would take a long time, maybe allowing all beings to learn some lessons, maybe preparing the planet for a post-matrix dwelling. Kind of lame, I guess, but I haven't read anything yet about "it is finished." It seems like no matter what anyone else in the system knew, the god was finishing up something. Also, the words were uttered before in our world at a turning point in existance. Any thoughts? If you want, you can call me Ted.

Not lame at all,
We have a lot of people who make don't look for such profound meaning in something so simple. Very welcome by me. I do think the machine is saying "It is done." meaning the deal, the war, the captivity, deception. All of that.

I personally don't think the machines knew forcefull control of the humans would eventually end.

My own take is they needed a solution for the combative nature of humans. As the machines were continually making better AI.. They put a very large amount into the construction of the Oracle.

While she was designed to look into how humans act and react to their environment, her ability to understand them causes her to value them aswell. She finds the problem is not the humans, but how the machines treat them, and the limitted capacity of the machines to understand.

So she takes it aupon herself to act outside the will of the machines, to make the real solution.

I am just mentioning this because if the machines wanted to end the war, they could have, very easily. Just give the humans the truth, and freedom.

I see "It is done." more like a profound moment, where the Dues Ex Machina it's self realizes the war has ended, and the childishness of the actions taken beforehand (perhaps, hence, the baby like face the machina took, just as a hint from the brothers), and that The Oracle was just plain right.

That's moving. I mean it.

I always thought he said "It is done." because Neo had finally beaten Smith.

Why Mr.Anderson, why, why, do you persist?!?

I also belive that behind the plot, the final idea is that the problem of mankind is their pride, their violent ambitious nature. Neo defeated this "nature" by voluntarily giving his life.

At this point is where I belive the movie takes a very religious meaning. I reinforced this idea after I read the lyrics of Neodammerung. It's an indian ghospel, but it perfectly fits the christian point of view.

I also link this with my idea that Smith is inside Neo, Smith represents the human nature of Neo. The final fight, to me, symbolizes a fight between Neo and himself.
