i havent been here for a while but thought you guys might like to see what was in the last matrix online news letter..i thought it was of intrest so enjoy!

There are also those who believe that Neo is still alive... As a newly awakened redpill, you are thrust into this maelstrom of subterfuge and mistrust. Choose your loyalties but trust no one. now most of that is well known...but the bold portion is of intrest...why throw in "there are also those who believe that neo is still alive..."? is this just to show that the matrix online story is up to the users like previously stated? or is it something else?

I think it's because there are people who have seen the movies and are going to play the game who think he is alive, and since we are the ones who are now going to be the ones in the matrix, then that statement is totally supported by that. But who knows, maybe he really didn't die (just thinking about the Oracle saying she suspects they will see him again) and they will use that in the game later... If that does happen, though, I'm sure it won't be for a while.

Not exactly 'wide open' is it?

It all depends on interpretation. Me, I think he's dead. The saga of Neo is over.

"He's not pinin', he's passed on! This Neo is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! This is a late One! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the 'fic he would be pushing up the daisies! His metabolical processes are of interest only to historians! He's hopped the twig! He's shuffled off this mortal coil! However... I will admit that the Wachowskis left themselves a nice little loophole. HOwever my faith in humanity will be shattered if they go that route.

What is the loophole?

That little bit about "There are those who believe Neo is still alive."

Like it or not, it's a loophole.

Personally, I take it to mean that people are in denial, but you never know.
