Humans created the machines (AI). And as stated by the Animatrix human beings created the very thing that would lead to their destruction. The Machines and humans eventually go to war and the machines win - wiping out most of the human race.

In M1 Smith tells Morpheus that like the dinosaur - human beings are extinct and that the machines are the future "our time."

No one knows how long this war lasted or what the real year is - but considering the size of the "sewers" were talking thousands of years... The machines now created this intricate "software/matrix-intellegence" that govern their power-source (the humans in stasis).

The Irony - the software/AI that the machines created are now going to lead to the demise of the machines. If Smith takes over the Matrix and if that screws up the whole "stasis-battery" thing - then the machines will become extinct. ARGO - VIE SA VIE - ARGO ARGO ARGO creating the "loop"

Mabye the machines will go easy on the humans and let them go free considering that A)Humans created the machines, B)The machines understand that their "intellegence" - "flaws" - "strengths" are not that different from humans after all - considering that their own AI creations are threatening to destroy them, and C)Give Peace a Chance Smile

If you think about it, everything that the initial AI learned was learned from Human Beings, so I suppose Human Beings have only themselves to blame regarding their situation...
More morals to the tale - ergo!!

Don't run before you can walk... concordantly!!

Put your own house in order before you try to rearrange somebody elses!!! vis-a-vis!!

ERGO, VIS-a-VIS, ERGO, ERGO, ERGO - concordantly. Therefore it is equivocally an unsatiate towards an unseeming melanotis of manutius proportions. Yet the underlying savoury still remains. Do you agree? Smile
