The only way I would go back into the cacoon is with protection I would just hit it and quit it. Cuz you know what they say "You cant turn a Cacoon Into a Housewife"

You guys who say you would eat goop everyday and fight for Zion are nuts. It doesn't make a difference because the movies proved the humans cannot win. So what's the point of fighting? I would be the first in line to get plugged back in instead of being in a cave with a bunch of dirty people who probably smell cause they don't have deodorant lol

- Dude I think Zion would be an awesome place to live. You get to learn to fly hovercrafts. You can learn to use and APU. And best of all, you can get knowledge uploaded into your brain. You learn to free your mind and bend the rules within the Matrix.

I only agree with you on the fact that you get to upload things and do crazy kung fu and jump over buildings. But having to fight and run away from Sentienls everyday can get annoying. I just know I would not want to be in a war that is never ending.

Fighting for what you believe in is Honorable and Worthy, no matter if its a lost cause.

well personally if i were already unhooked, and i knew that i didnt want to go back knowing that i wus going to be lied to then i would stay unplugged. but then again there is a great chance of dying. which brings me to my last point.who says dying is a bad thing? it is because we r afraid of things that we do not know. so actually if u think about it ignorance is not bliss....

i cant go back to a virtual prison but at the same time humans are not worth saving...

I've just voted to go back to the Matrix. Life in the Real World would be just crap. Going back to the Matrix would be a good alternative. I mean, when you go back, you forget everything about the Matrix and the Real World.

I think many peopl here who voted for fighting have a very very romantizised idea of the life a a rebel. Real Life would definitely not as cool as shown in the movies. it would be pretty damn uncool.

Besides, I think if we were all freed, we sooner or later would start to kill each other again. So, you would end up with a normal life but on a devastated planet. What would be the point of leaving the Matrix?

But if you have a purpose and a will to live a good life than take the red pill because hey...if you work for the Machines you would still be saving the human race. I would agree to return to the matrix if the machines offered me the life I wanted. I would make a list of everything I could ever want, and if the machines met my demands I would return to the matrix. Ever wanted 3 wishes? Well this is an opportunity for near unlimited wishes. Weath, women/men, entertainment... anything. There is no chance that I would stay in Zion, but I would keep my memories of Zion and the real world.

The idea of returning back to the matrix is a trick that is meant to deceive you and re-use you for evil purposes. Think about it, when you realize the truth, I mean that something is fake, you overcome a certain "barrier" in your mind. This happens even if the fake thing appears to be more pleasant
and better then then the real thing. Once you know that something is false, your mind won't let you to accept it and this is why you can eventually go crazy and collapse. Even from the perspective of The Matrix Trilogy, all of the ones who wanted to return back to the Matrix, were killed or were used by the machines as traces of information. This is what actually happened to guys like Cypher, Bane, and many others who were "infected" by Smith and the agents. Furthermore, in Animatrix there is a whole episode dedicated to that point. Also, this can be the reason why most of the people in Zion do not turn back and accept the fictional world of the matrix.

I do not want to argue with anybody, but the question of whatever to return to the matrix or not, is one of main messages of The Trilogy. Your answer to that question can reflect on how you interpret the message of the trilogy.
