»Did Neo gain EMP powers in Matrix 1?«

I was just thinking, spurred by the questions about how Neo stopped the sentinels at the end of Reloaded...
and its something i dont think ive read in forums yet,
but remember at the end of The Matrix(1), the Nebbuchadnezzer(sp?)switched its EMP on at the precise moment Neo woke up. Could there have been an electrical surge that connected him with EMP capabilities from then on???
And now that i think of it, (please correct me if im wrong on this) didnt Neo's eyes open while he was still jacked in(after Trin kisses him)??Cant remember...off to bed.
