Can you not get into the matrix from Xian? BTW did how in the hell did they build Xian and all of the futureistic machines so quick? For starting civilization over again they sure did a good job. Remember that the ships need to be at BROADCAST LEVEL before they can hack into the Matrix. Remember how they argue about how hard it had become to find a safe spot to hack into the matrix, and that has to be with-in a certain distance (never explained) to make a connection.

well think about who the previous one took with him... i think that taking the best and brightest, ones who knew have the know how to build a city such as zion from scratch, would give them at least a chance to do that... my only question... how do they get so deep underground... there are 24 humans, with completely atrophied bodies, stark naked in a world without sunlight. the chances of survival are nil...
