»Just a few questions on The Matrix...«

1 - What is the symbollism of the window washers when Neo gets told off by his boss?
2 - Is it just me or does his boss look more than a bit like Agent Smith?
3 - When Neo wakes up in the real world in his little pod, why does the machine unplug his wires? Surely the machine would want to keep him in the Matrix.
4 - How is Neo transported so quickly from the machine place to the Nebuchadnezzar?
5 - The crew complain of rubbish food, but couldn't they just go into the Matrix and get something nice to eat?

the only one i can adequately answer is five: they can eat in the Matrix, and it'll taste good, but it won't do any physical good in the real world because their bodies are no longer in the power plant. if all they did was eat in the Matrix, they'd starve.

1- I honestly can not think of anything that's profound in this scene other then to show that Neo is spacing out and not exactly interested in what his boss is telling him off for.

2 - Yeah he does. The monotone voice and talk about his place in the work-place also similar to Smith's line of thinking in Matrix 1

3 - The Machine unplugs Neo from the Matrix because it recognizes that Neo has fully awakened from the Matrix and is now unable to be properly reinserted. So he is detached from his pod and sent down the drain to drown. (mussels having atrophied making it impossible to swim)

4 - The Neb and its crew have been watching Neo for a long time. Also if you remember during Neo's awakening process Apoc explains "Lock I got him!". The process Neo goes through is both to awaken him from the Matrix and track his whereabouts in the fields so they can trace where he will be dumped off and where they can pick him up. So Once Neo had gone down his water slide the Neb was ready and waiting to pick him back up.

5 - Yes they could however the Matrix and all within it isn't real. They wouldn't really be eating any food and their bodies would not be receiving all the vitamins, minerals, and such that it needs to keep going.
