I would like to know what message you hope is in the matrix for mankind. I will start by telling you my own thoughts. I'm hoping the matrix will be more than just another "Good guy + evil = Good guy win. I think that's what's wrong with sociaty today. What we see as "evil", others see as "Good". I'm hoping Neo is being used and what he thinks is "Doing the right thing" really is designed to hurt him. It would go to the heart of the major problems we face today. As easily as we are lead to believe Neo is "Doing good", the followers of Osama my feel he is "Doing good". Modern mythology must deal with this simple truth. For me a great plot ending would be Neo realizing this and bringing the machine world and his world together. Lets not forget, animatrix clearly shows humans as the villians.

Good guy = doing what he/she thinks is good for his/her group

Evil guy = doing what he/she thinks is good for a group you are not in

True evil seems to me, the system which grows by taking advantage of conflicts. A good example would be hilter and the german armys rise. Hitler created fear in germans so the germans would need Hitler to protect them. The german people were not evil per say yet they committed evil acts. I suspect they thought it was they were "doing good".

Another message would be "You are the one" who can change everything. Believe in yourself.

Human Beings have proved that without the help of Machines we would not be where we are today - Technology is here to stay and it's evolving in leaps and bounds, just suppose we are on the verge of AI, we have to think about the eventualities. After all most of the Human Race on this Planet has a problem getting along with each other...

Another message is that we view our reality in our own unique way, our own interpretation of our surroundings. Reality may not be as we see it.. could be something entirely different. The Matrix is just another way of looking, and lifting the veil - Reality from another perspective...
It also makes for a damn good conspiracy theory...
