How Could Harry J. Lennix (Commander Lock) Not Win The Vote

I just voted on the miscast / should be replaced and I am still scratching my head as to how anyone could have not voted for Harry J. Lennix (Commander Lock). The man is a terrible actor. He is straight from the bad sci-fi acting school of a the Next Generation Star Trek fame. Or the method acting style of playing an angry/uptight character by shouting all the time. Honestly, no one is that one dimensional. Not even one dimensional people are that shallow! I mean even the biggest dick I have ever meet shifts emotional gears occasional in a conversation.

Also, no one could ever rise to the level of Commander with that little charisma! The man is as wood. At least in the case of Keneau it fits because he is playing a Buddha like character.

The three things that should have been cut from that film: Harry J. Lennix (top of the list), that Juno Reactor song used for the Big Brawl, and rave dance scene/sex scene.

What is wrong with the track that backed the Burly Brawl ?
I thought it was excellent, I listen to the soundtack all the time and I can sit and listen to the music and see the action in my head. My favourite is Mona Lisa Overdrive. Great tune...

...when I saw someone had responded to my thread my first thought, "Was not possible. Somebody actually dug Harry?" I wish I could answer you question definitively but I do not have the soundtrack and well, P2P is not as much fun as it used to be.

But instead I will just quote what my thoughts were the first time I saw the film. My first though was this song sounds a bit silly. It distracted me too such a degree that was not able to enjoy that scene. It killed the emotional impact of the scene. I will admit the second time I saw the film the song grew on me. I think it is a song that remixed could would be smoking but that particular mix seem to light and fluffy. Over all thought music selection for Reloaded was not on as dead on as Matrix. The Properheads was a serious find for the first film.

What a minute I think I know what bugged me, although I am not able to play any of the songs at this moment to confirm, there is a bit of a house/rave edge to a lot of the tracks. In fact...let me see, yes I have a few June Reactor tracks and they are definitely house.

So too use too many words for a short answer, it is not that I hated the song but that I felt that it was a serious mismatch for the emotional impact of the scene and too compound that I am not a big fan of house.

But back to the real issue, honestly, can anyone say that if they cut out all of the scenes that Harry was in, just left it on the cutting room floor, that anything would have been missed, if not in fact greatly improved?

Isn't he in every movie there is these days? He is a good actor, though.

@Luthorcrow:

If I were to point out the stuff about Reloaded I have a problem with, they would be included the things you mention. But they are made the way the WBs intended, so who are we to judge? Smile

As for Harry J. Lennix (Commander Lock), I think he fills the part, but his part is not that big... Seems like it will be bigger in Revolutions. Maybe I'll learn to hate him then... Wink

Your Avatar scares me.
