I recieved an email today from Ubisoft informing me that the MxO game is now being produced by Monolith.

They don't give any reasons as to why, but I thought I'd pass on this information to all of you... Cool

Curiouser and Curiouser.

Ubi still have mentions of it on their site (ubi.com... and corp.ubisoft.com...) including

Ubi wrote:

Since launching ubi.com in November 2001, Ubisoft has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to the online market. Uru: Ages Beyond MYST and The Matrix Online will soon be added to a blockbuster selection of online games that already includes Shadowbane and EverQuest.

According to the site you gave (lith.com...) this has been the case since May 2002 - they have a press release which starts;

Warner Bros., Monolith Productions and EON Entertainment Developing Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game Based On "The Matrix"
BURBANK, CA, 22 May, 2002 -- Warner Bros., Monolith Productions and EON Entertainment are producing a massively multiplayer online video game based on the hugely successful "The Matrix" franchise, it was announced today...

It'll probably turn out that Monolith was gonna release it through Ubi, or it was a joint deal and they're arguing over credit or something.

Doesn't really matter as long as it happens.

Besides both companies produce great games Cool

So if you just got a mail informing you of this, either they're late with the news or its a "business as usual" e-mail

For those who don't know Ubisoft is no longer involved in the game, it's up to the game department of WB to handle it.

Flip a coin. Choose heads or tails but, if you knew every variable, there would be no choice, only an answer. That is how the Architect works.

Is this from an official source?

Do they give a reason?

Do you have a link?

Did it say that in the e-mail Agent Smith?

Let's see was it ign.co? It's common knowledge now. The reason is because of the terrible downfall of their last MMORPG, Shadowbane. If you want to see it, I'm pretty sure it's somewhere on IGN.com

Well ff it's no longer in the hands of Ubisoft, it's for the best. Who makes it really doesn't matter much though, the fact is that it comes out this YEAR!

Well..... here I am.

well the developer hasn't changed, only the publisher.. so i mean i don't think it'll really make a difference good or bad to the finished game

You too?
I think we should team-up in the game...What do you say?

You don't belong to one of those clans do you?
I did consider it and joined The Collective...but decided I would go it alone instead...however I would be willing to team up with you as I know where your loyalties lie Cool
