You dont know if Tank died of an infection or maybe he said he was alright, but he wasn't maybe he killed himself or maybe something else happened.

THE TRUE IS

Mr. Chong had problems with Warner Brothers as far as his contract for The Matrix Reloaded so... WB as oppose to bend over backwards kille dhis character and introduced Link. Zee was technically suppose to be Tank's wife, but the plot isn't really affected.
