how come bullets and shit hurt people that are "unplugged"? don't they know that the bullets are not really real and really neither are they
(you know what i mean!!) they shouldnt die or have pain inflicted upon them because of what morpheus said in the dojo scene:

Quote:

"do u think my strength or my speed has anything to do with my muscles in this place? do u think thats air your breathing now?"

Your mind is in the Matrix and that makes everything VERY real, so if your mind registers the fact that you have been shot and are dying then it makes it REAL .The body cannot exsist without the mind, and vice versa.. I think I'd rather be an Agent!!!!

I understand what you mean 100%... you're basically saying that if they know it's fake because the matrix is a fake conscienouss, then why does the brain think it's real...

Am I right in thinking that's what you think?

i'm sayin if its fake and they know its fake how could it affect them?
how come only neo can have "super" powers when everyopne who is "unplugged" has the same knowlege of strength and speed within the matrix?

another thing i have a problem with is how the agents can doge bullets and stuff why don't they fight as fast as they dodge?

It's kind of like this:

Have you ever slept on your arms weird or sat in a bad position for so long that one of your limbs totally fell asleep? Not just pins and needles, but completely numb? If you tried to pick something up with that "dead" arm you wouldn't be able to. You realize that you still have complete control or your arm, you can see it right there in front of you, but no matter what you do it just kinda flops around when you move it and you can't even seem to get a good grip on anything.

Being in the Matrix after being freed is like that: you know nothing is real, but that basic part of your brain that controls your unconscious behavior like breathing and digestion is saying "Fuck you, this is real, and we've just been shot! Complete system shut-down! Holy fuckshitassbitchcunt!" No matter how fake your intellectual mind knows it is, your "primitive cerebrum" rejects that information for the input that is being wired directly into it from your senses. Kind of like the way that if your brain can't feel your "dead" hand, you're gonna have a hell of a time getting it to respond.

The One, apparently, can (beside change the Matrix) make his unconscious mind believe what he wants it to, rejecting input from the Matrix.

Does this help?

What the fuck, over.

The Matrix is an incredible, utterly-convincing Simulation of real world programming. The bullets feel Real. You cannot convince your mind otherwise. Even Neo cannot convince himself and the system of whatever he wants. It seems as though he can only reprogram the code around him. This allows gravity changes/force fields for flying, stopping bullets, etc. The "unplugged" merely are able to improve the programming of their residual self images, and manipulate personal things such as strength and speed(if their mind/synapses are up to it).

you can get shot or fall or get hit by a car or die by any means while you are dreaming and have it hurt just as bad as in the real world, but you still wake up feeling nothing at all, unless you rolled over and hit your head

when you wake up, you are still alive, or are you?

the matrix is a dream-world, when you are 'plugged' into the matrix you do not know that you are in a simulation, much like you do not know that you are dreaming.
when you are dreaming, you do not know that you are dreaming, or that your dreams are weird, or perfectly normal, unless you have a developed sense for knowing you are asleep and dreaming or if you remember that you have gone to sleep and are not awake so must be dreaming.

the machines have made the matrix as realistic as possible, if you get shot in the matrix, you die, but what part of you dies?
your mind does not die only your physical body

so the machines may have the safety measure of when some one gets a mortal wound in the matrix, they kill them in their pods and liquify etc...

but as for the unplugged humans... why should they die in the matrix?

they think that they have died, but have yet to, and when they are convinced that they are not dead, it seems to be a miracle to those around them when they come back to life.

2 have died inside the matrix and have been revived, so we know that they do not fully 'die' only they appear to die in both the matrix and 'real world zion'

even programs like agent smith appear to die (when neo dives) but are given the choice of returning to the source or being an exile

death is an illusion

is neo the lucid dreamer of the matrix?
