»System failure at the end of M1«

I have been reading various posts on this forum and I must say I'm more confused then ever. The way I interpited the end of M1 was the system failure was a search failure.If you notice at the beginig of M1 a search was started on Trinities phone call and traced.It appeared to me that a search was started on Neos phone call (ending of M1) and failed to locate him. So was it a total system failure or just a search failure???

The beguining of the movie starts with Trinity's call:

DATE 2.19.1998 TIME 13:24:18

Neo's call at the end of the movie

DATE 9.19.1999 TIME 14:32:21
WARNING: CARRIER ANOMALY


Do we have any date references in the Reloaded. Or maybe in the Animatrix Kid's story?


I think the message was 'SYSTEM FAILURE' and it stops the the search.
I belive it to be the the first warning the entire system is going to crash... remember that is POSSIBLY one of the Architects Monitors.

Maybe it happens during Revolutions, before the real ending.
