Smith is a true man-machine

For a while I've been thinking about Neo now, and it occurred to me that he might be a true man/machine, as is agent Smith!

Remember the way in wich Agent Smith was defeated in The Matrix? The jumping inside the code and exploding it? Now how come Neo doesn't defeat ANYONE like that? Moreover, I think that this specific method of 'defeating' an agent has caused cross-contamination between Smith and Neo. As in, Smith becomes more like a human (gaining freedom and such), while Neo becomes more like a machine (his entire personality becomes kind of cold and calculating). Also, I think that this is the only thing that wasn't supposed to happen according to the Prophecy.

As for the 'copying' ability from agent Smith, I think it refers to the biblical story of the demon Legion, in which a demon is exorsized from a man by jesus himself. Don't think that's coincidence.

Also, how come a program can function outside of the matrix (referring to Smith here) ? I really think that a human body, to a machine, is basically just another 'platform' on which its code can be run. It just requires the correct instruction set and protocol information to function right, which could have come from the encounter with Neo.

Another thing is the EMP pulse generated by Neo at the ending of Reloaded. Remember that his body DOES contain ports and electronics, so it IS POSSIBLE that, when enough knowledge is attained, these can be used in ways that they weren't designed for -- EMP pulse being one of them. If this is the case, then it would be easier for Smith to do this, being familiar with the machine logic and a more complete specification of the workings of the port electronics. It would also mean that as soon as you CAN do this, your brain is more tightly connected to the electronics inside your body, and since EMP is basically an overload of electronical capacity, you can expect a 'power spike' if you will, returning to the brain -- EMP induced coma. Very interesting stuff indeed.

Also note that Smith in the real world seems to be ignored by the sentinels. This might indicate that he is still recognised as a machine.

Yeah, I kind of wondered why he didn't just jump into Smith like he did before. Maybe since Smith has been upgraded, he has a Neo firewall built in now.

What's also interesting is that Smith is spreading like the virus he accused the humans of doing to the planet in M1. So, he's no better than the humans he's trying to control.

And if Neo dove into the other agents, they could end up being freed like Smith. That would be a mess for Neo if it's in his agenda to upgrade the Matrix to his own design, and the code was corrupted and degraded by freed agents.

Meh. Maybe the reason Neo doesn't defeat the other Agents like that other than the fact about freeing Smith, is because there is no point. If you permanently kill an Agent the machines will just create a new one and send it in, so there is no point.

I think the jump-in has deleted Smith's "purpose". Thus you cannot do it anymore.

I'm not sure what this person means when sayin that "Another thing is the EMP pulse generated by Neo at the ending of Reloaded. A human body creates very small amounts of electricity through the movement of K , Na , and Cl . So it desn't make sense for Neo to creat an EMP , unless , he was a machine .

Shooting Holes

Sorry, going to have to shoot some holes through your theory =)

1. Why doesn't Neo bust up Smith like at the end of the first movie?

Before the Burley Brawl scene (100's of Smiths), Agent Smith engages in a friendly conversation with Neo. He explains to him that when Neo "killed" Agent Smith, something happened. It allows Smith to disobey. Then more Smiths started popping out of the woodwork. Anyone in this situation would realize that killing him like last time isn't going to work, and even if I did, he's going to come back with even more funky powers than before. Whatever the case, doing what he did to Smith before isn't a solution and could lead to even more problems, so he avoided it altogether. Good man.

2. EMP Pulse.

If Neo somehow was sitting there with EMP abilities in his belly, we could have noticed that the ship, which was not far away at all and well within the range of EMP, wouldn't have so nicely have come gliding in so soon. EMP is a very powerful weapon and it is based on high frequency waves. Those babies go forever. As we know, those wonderful high frequency gamma rays go from the Sun to Earth and remain wonderfully intact to belt us and give us cancer. More information on EMP is available at

fas.org...
and I would recommend reading the first paragraph under High Altitude EMP. Those babies are big and strong and have extremely wide ranges of effect. What Neo released was certainly not EMP, as we also didn't see the "wave" effect which was unleashed at the end of M1. The robots just fell and died. This connects with a previous post of mine which explains that Neo might have the ability to control the energy the machines get from the Matrix.

You think that's air you're breathing?

Yep, I agree. But unfortunately they also don't use their super-fast-boxing anymore Sad

That would explain "I can feel them"? You mean like "I am feeling a bad weather front is coming, my foot toe is itching"

So why does Neo break down? And Trinity still walks? Do you think Neo has overloaded the sentinels and himself?
